I bought the mats to level three additional teams to 485, for the Life Transmute.
And have leveled a second team to 485 already.
Which means, one team at 525 with Truegold.
One team at 485, with the Life Transmute.
And mats for two additional teams for the Life Transmute.
But have not even logged into warcraft in three days now.
Been fairly busy around Christmas.
Going to be doing the Life primarily on the other toons.
But the Truegold on the first team, with the Air supplied by one of the Life teams.
When prices drop, I'll level additional teams to 525, but probably go with Air as the main transmute, at least until epic gems are introduced... then those will probably be the transmute of choice.

I found out that if you do get procs, they still proc randomly. The original transmute is always air if in uldum, but the proc give(s) different elements. I got fire and water for procs.

yeah the transmutation master proc on this is pretty sweet. It's a surprise!
Can we Settle this once and for all of what is going to end up netting us the most cash?
Lets base it on 5 characters (I have more so i will just times this by 2 others that have more do the same 5 is just a good jumping off point.)
Transmute Truegold
Costs (as of right now on my server 12 /29/2010)
Pyrium Bar (3), 50 G = 150
Volatile Fire (10), 18G = 180
Volatile Air (10), 35 G = 350
Volatile Water (10) X 17g = 170
Total cost for one truegold = 850 1 Truegold sells for 1000 on my server so that is 150 g per char per day
Assume that you are proc spec lets say that on the average you proc 1 extra truegold a day thats pure profit (out of your 5 characters)
750 (150 * 5) + 1000 = 1750 profit per day.
Life to air
15 Volatile life X 10 = 150
Volatile Air (15), 35 G = 525
525-150= 375 profit
lets say again you proc one time for one of the lessers least amount is Water or Earth for between 14-17g so lets just say 15 for easy math
375*5=1875 + 225 = 2100 profit
2100 - 1750 = 350 gold bonus if you xmute the airs. per 5 characters. or 70 gold extra per character per day.
What really screws this up is if you proc 3 or a 4 on one character.. So what does everyone think?

So far, I've got 7 transmute spec (I'll have 19 when it's all said and done) high enough to do the living elements transmute, and 2 high enough to do puregold. In my opinion, with enough transmuters, the living elements is the best bet. I've been buying lifes any time they're less than 10g, and airs go for 30g consistently on my server. I just send my characters down to Uldum, and hearth back home. So far, in the 4 or so days since I started leveling professions, I've gotten 2 procs from doing airs. One was 14 earths (~15g ea) and one was 16 waters (~12g I think). So, napkin math time:
(we'll go with 5 transmuters, as with blbjtb)
750g for 75 lifes
those turn into 2250g without procs
1500g profit for 5 toons doing airs, and I've had them sell as I'm posting them. Truegold won't always sell immediately with people undercutting you.
with procs, it can be an extra 150g or so per toon/proc.
I'm going to stick with airs until either lifes go up, or airs drop.
