Default That gold guide people wanted... heres most of it

Posted this elsewhere first, figured i would post here for those that enjoyed my guides. I'm not going to deal with trolls or being flamed or whatever, just posting it and logging out.

    Introduction
I'm a Multi-Boxer whom specializes in making gold. I am an ******* and in this "guide" you may be demeaned in some manner but you can deal with it. Before you say "how do we know these work" I've been playing again since february and normally do not play over 2-3 hours per day... I've made over 1.5 million gold in that time period and am currently gold capped on three toons.

KEEP IN MIND THAT ECONOMIC AWARENESS IS KING NO MATTER HOW YOU AIM TO MAKE MONEY. ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT I WILL BE REFERENCING ALL PROFESSIONS ASSUMING YOU HAVE THEM ALL.

This guide is not going to teach you how to multi-box, what team to run or anything like that... it is SIMPLY to show you the power multi-boxing brings to make money(if that is your ultimate goal like it is mine. If you want programs to multi-box you can use any of the following

    ISBoxer
    Keyclone
    Hotkeynet
    Octopus
    ********

I recommend them in that order.

    Mob Farming Strategies
    __________________________________________________ _______________________

    Instances
Old world instances are great cash... many people single box places such as stratholme, ramparts and sethekk halls. The difference is that multi-boxers can do instances that may take a single boxer longer to clear in much less time (sethekk halls for example) to ultimately yield higher profits.

    Sethekk halls
You can cap out your instances per hour with ease including looting (unlike single boxing). Each run gives you tons of vendor trash, tons of cloth, decent amount of silver, some blues/green to disenchant/vendor depending on the material prices on your server. As well as about 3 stacks of adamantite ore.

This yields between 500 and 1000 gold per hour depending on server and drops.

    Stratholme
Unlike single boxing you can solo this place and kill at a much much faster rate than single boxing. I myself run with 5 paladins and you can kill a pack of mobs in two buttons.... this being said you can instance cap doing both dead and undead (entire left side from service entrance)

The amount of gold you get from this varies depending on drops. Crusader enchant sells very well (the righteous orbs that drop in living area used for this) as well as the abundant amount of runecloth, greens to DE/vendor and vendor trash.

If runecloth is above 7 gold per stack this is a GREAT place to farm especially for the speed at which you can run it.

HOBBS has great videos on the amount of money he made with this place as a single boxer.

    Tempest Keep: Botanica
Exactly like sethekk halls but the mobs are a bit higher level and there are many more of them to kill, unlike sethekk halls there are no mining nodes in which you can abuse. More silver to be had and not all mobs are able to drop cloth but still a very good place. There are many chinese botters whom use this place to bot in order to get the "got my mind on my money" achievements.

    Violet Hold
This was my mainstay for a while... the amount of skins you get and cloth makes this place a gold mine. If you always have wintergrasp you can make tons of shards as well. Tons of greens and vendor trash that can be great. Some blues that sell for higher than the price of dream shards as well. This place can be cleared in about 10-12 minuets meaning you can meet the instance cap as well just like in some of the old world instances. This place drops scales, leather, coin, greens, blues, arctic fur at an increased drop chance and a few bosses that are skinnable as well for extra cash.

Each mob here is worth about 2 gold in materials or more. If you have a tailor in the group the amount of cloth is increased by quite a bit as well.

    Random heroics
Make sure NOT to have any of the "new" places opened... you don't want to go in them as they are a waste of time. The 10 frost badges aren't worth losing the convenience.

You can do between 3 and 5 instances per hour... with professions this can end up being close to 2000 gold an hour or more.

The complete guide to the random heroics method is here:
Multi-Boxer's Guide To Making Gold Through Heroics - Go For Broke

    The garfrost method
Theres a way to get to garfrost without aggroing anything... I'm not going to describe it in full but basically jump off like normal, don't go up the stupid ramp, run right across the the edge of the quarry... then make sure not to be seen by anything. You can pull the stupid drake + rider if you need to (the first one) the second one can ALWAYS be skipped. This takes 2 mins to do each run, using the looking for dungeon system you can leave instance, reset, and re-que and it will by-pass the "instance limit" per hour.

Gives upwards to 30 badges per hour, some random gold, and up to 30 abyss crystals, also gives 4 stonekeeper shards per kill.

Done on normal mode... usually brought me in 2-3k per hour depending on prices of gems (what i used my badges on), or you can use the same strategies covered in the heroics guide for professions in order to use your badges to maxamize profit (i was just super lazy and this is MINDLESS)

You can carry someone and leave one of your toons out if you want to gear a friend... takes about 7 hours total to get them fully geared in t9 + off pieces from badges.

    Raids
Old school raids or even ICC can bring in quite a bit of extra cash for a multi-boxer. My current mainstay is to sit in ICC 25 man and farm some of the trash with my 4 shaman/paladin team and get me some BOES. But every raid has it's purpose.

    Zul'gurub
The trash is reset-able and like farming for the rep items and such as a single person (they sell for random amounts on the ah, i'm normally able to sell them for around 15g per). No real secret here it's the same as the single boxing method... go in kill the trolls and get the crap you turn in for rep.

    Karazhan
    Another trash reset zone

Areas to kill: room up the first set of stairs stairs, tables in front of moroes, 2nd level starting from top of stairs to front of opera stage.

Tons of coin, cloth, and tons of vendor trash....greens etc... TONS of mobs that are really easy to kill as well as a boxing group. If you have not seen the vids of the rogue soloing most of this trash than go watch it...it's on warcraftmovies and youtube.

    Tempest Keep: The Eye
You know about the bots in black temple right? They only go there because they don't have the killing power for this place due to the trash not being quite as easy but still... super easy.

EVERY mob in here will give you vendor trash, 1 gold or more, a good amount of cloth and high percent drops for greens.

    Trash is reset-able.

BOTH TEMPEST KEEP AND KARA ARE GREAT PLACES FOR PURE COIN

    Molten core
All the items for things like thunder fury, also hand of ragnaros... decent coin as well. Can yield about 500 gold per reset or whatever. If you don't know why this place is good... look up some of the "resell in cataclysm" guides.

    Blackwing lair
This is soloable... this is mainly for elementium ore. Can yield A LOT of gold if you are lucky. Good thing to do once a week.

A trick i forgot to post...unlimited elementium ore.
Step 1: Clear up to the room that has the 10 ish blackwing technicians (not the boss guy with like 1% chance but the other goblin dudes)
Step 2: CC one of the goblins so it will not get pulled... grab the rest and kill them FAST
Step 3: Loot and then run out of the instance,if the CC'd mob follows you no biggie just DO NOT KILL IT
    Step 4: Leave the instance
Step 5: Wait 10 mins and go back inside (trash soft reset)
Step 6: Go back to the room with the mobs we are killing and then repeat the process.

This means you get 50+ chances per hour at the ore, instead of like... 10. (these mobs have 10% chance per to drop the ore)
I got lucky and got 8 ore in one hour like this (they sell for 1200g per ore on my server)

    Mag
Great gold from the boss himself once a week.. an extra 500 gold or so for 25 mins of work.

This takes some getting use to though.

    The battle for mount hyjal
Another trash place... more decent drops... not as good as TK though in my opinion. It's a nice change of pace. Do the trash up to for the first boss, bring them back to the npcs for a bit more DPS if you need to.

    Icecrown Citadel 25 man
This is my bread and butter. "The Damned" are soloable easily on any multi-box team in t9 gear. This means that you can kill about 5-10 mobs before having to reset in the same amount of time as someone who is killing the three and bringing them back to the NPC's. So every 5 mins you can kill about 10 mobs and then reset. You can get upwards to 200 mobs per hour if you are good, and since many BOES have an upwards to 5% chance to drop you can assume you will get one or two... some times more. My best set was 3x wodins, 2x harbringer's band, 1x ring of rotting sinew in a single hour (at 5k, 6k and 3k worth per that netted me 30k total).

I HIGHLY suggest running as a paladin + 4 shaman for this, or bring a healer friend and you can clear a bit more of the trash if you really wanna try (i run with a healer shaman + 4 ret paladins and a dk and can do like 12-13 mobs before resetting in about 5 mins)

    __________________________________________________ _______________________
    Single mobs
All the normal places apply. But these are the spots I like best.
    __________________________________________________ _______________________

    Scholozar Basin: Rapids near freya
Bonescythe scavengers are here... they respawn faster with more people there. If you have a group such as 5 druids or 5 paladins you can set them up in a line and basically keep them all killing all the mobs rapidly. Every few mins take a break and loot the mobs.

    Tons of silver, frostweave etc.

    Borean tundra: The rhinos
Best to do on kitty druids or mages or something that can AOE without needing to worry about cooldowns.

Like the other videos say... 1000+ gold per hour... just you kill more than in the videos/guides they show. Sometimes you can make 2k+ per hour

Skinning is REQUIRED for this. Rhino meat + chilled meat + leather + arctic fur

Icecrown : Fallen heroes... glacier area
The basic premise of this is the same as the hobbs way of pulling for this area... just because it is a quest area like the place in scholozar you get the mobs to spawn faster.

Tons of cloth, greens, coin and vendor trash. I highly suggest having a traveler's tundra mount if you plan on using this place as there are A LOT of drops considering you are normally killing 6-10 mobs at a time. The best class to do this place with is bear druids, ret paladins and priests (holy nova FTW)

Can be easily 1000 gold an hour or so depending on AH prices of cloth and enchanting mats etc.

    Storm Peaks: Fjorn's Anvil
Fire elementals... fast respawn timer. Sit your chars in different places and press your AOE buttons.

Relics of ulduar, eternal fire, vendor trash

Decent money depending on the price of eternal fires at the time as well as relics.

    Any other place for skinning
As a 5 paladin team... at 80 your taunt will kill the mob... so you can get up to 400 kills an hour if you kill + loot every 10 ish seconds. Thats a minimum of 400g an hour not including vendor trash, arctic furs... or any of the other crap... very mindless.

    __________________________________________________ ____________________
    Professions
    __________________________________________________ ____________________

    Crafting professions
Have as many toons as you can with daily cooldowns... i use to run alchemy/tailoring...will be again in cata since the cooldowns are back. Was also profitable as mining etc.

Having every crafting profession is awesome as well cause you can maximize your wealth from whatever you do. Leatherworking/Blacksmithing/Tailoring can make you big money if you use them correctly.

    The multi-toon scholozar trick (mining/herb/eng/3x alch/inscrip
Gathering professions are not the greatest for boxers... BUT there is one exception. Scholozar basin is a GOLD MINE for boxers... most people don't take the time to do it due to the tediousness but if you can figure out the correct pathing you can make TONS of money.

Toon 1: Must be mining/herbalism. Make sure to have the macro to switch between them to watch your minimap.

    Toon 2: Engineer + X-Mute alchemist

Toon 3: Elixir master + Inscription

Toon 4: Potions master + Blacksmithing (icecrown patterns)

You could alternatively use a radar of some sort to alert you when there is a node on two separate toons one as a miner and one as a herbalist.

Fly your route, get the adder's tongue, Tiger Lilly, saronite, titanium, gold clover and use the zapthrottle gas extractor on the gas clouds for eternal fires.

Then make saronite to bars, use x-mute alchemist to make them into titanium... use titanium to make titansteel. Take the adder's tongue and make potions of speed on the potions master. Take the gold clover and frost lotus... buy some lichbloom and make endless rage flasks as well as take any extra lichbloom and use it with the eternal lifes you get from herbalism to make flask of stone blood on the elixir master. Then take the tigers lily, mill them and then make them into the highest selling/best selling glyphs. Buy or trade in frosts for primordials and make ANY ICC pattern with your titansteel (you get upwards to 10 per hour)

Easily over 2000 an hour, if you do it for two hours and save titansteel for making 2x legplates... thats 10k or so and if you are buying the primordials its over 6k profit from that ALONE.

    Mining/Engineer in nagrand
Simply put... adamantite is expensive (50g per stack on my server) and so is khorium (60g PER ORE)... that combined with the primal air from the zapthrottle (60g+)

This nets over 1000g an hour easily.

The "isle of queldanas" trick (mining)
This is for anyone... and it is well known but VERY good. There are 6 nodes on the island on a 7 min respawn timer. They are mostly rich or khorium. Simply mine them and sell the stuff.

    Again over 800g an hour.

Leatherworking... taking advantage of the ah
Already known but it is worth posting.

If the price of 60 borean leather is less than the cost of 1 arctic fur... buy the leather and make the fur or sell the heavy borean if that is worth more as 10 heavy borean.

    All crafting professions
If the materials of making an epic item that is 245+ is 1/2 to 3/4 of what you would get if you created it and sold it then get the mats and make them and re-sell. I normally aim for a 500g+ profit margin. Or a 50+ gold profit margin for other items such as leg enchants etc.

Example: Legplates of painful death material costs... 20x eternal shadow (100g), 8x primordial saronite (2400g), 12x titansteel bars (1200ish gold).... if it sells for more than 4200 gold then it is worth making. ETC.

Saronite sword bracers cost around 900 to make and can fetch upwards to 1500 or 2k depending on your server. 400g here or there is worth it, just don't put too many of lower level items up.

If you do that 3-4 times a week that can end up putting a few extra thousand in your pocket, especially if you monopolize the market for multiple profession type of items.

FISHING/Cooking: AKA the fish feast method
Set up five toons to fish in wintergrasp. Use a "zoom in" addon that lets you zoom into anywhere on your screen and zoom into where the normal area of their bauble is. Sit back and go on a clicking frenzy as you watch TV, listen to music or do whatever. Best to be watching youtube on a 2nd monitor in my opinion. You can get addons that make noise when your bauble is interacted with by a fish... so just make a distinct sound for each character window and press your cast button, click the windows in the order that the sounds happen and tada....

EASY money. Costs like 2 gold to make, each fish is worth about 1 gold in this situation. So sell the fish you can't use and make huge profits. This is upwards to 5 fish every 10-15 seconds or less. So you can look at upwards to 2000 fish per hour. Which will net you over 1000 gold easily even if you sell in bulk!

It is 5am... I will update this with more information when i feel not so tired. But I think i will leave this as is, if it is appreciated I will add a bit more to it

This is meant for most people using 3-5 toons or being able to play 2+ at once and have alts for professions.

Some of this is probably a repost... but that's fine as I'm too lazy to look.

Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol' storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it"

yep it's a nice read. (in all honesty, i don't think people had any critic about the content of the guide, just about the way they were presented :-)

In any case, i've run a few Normal Garfrosts and it takes me 7 minutes. I can't seem to avoid the 2 dragon rider pats. (i could the second one i think, haven't tried all hard, seemed easier to kill it)

    thanks for sharing
