Default Looking to buy 4 LCD monitors ..which ones are good/bad, what do you use?

    Hello,

So far I've read many of the threads and I'm now able to 4 box with no problems, 5 boxing when I get a new computer on Wednesday. But I do this on a 24" Gateway LCD and an old Viewsonic 17" CRT monitor. I hate having 3 toons on 1 computer it's just too small, so I'm looking to order 2 ERGOTRON DS100 Dual-Monitor Vertical Desk Stands and buy up to 4 17" or 19" monitors. But I would like to know what you guys/gals recommend? These will be secondary to my 24" which I love, but I'm not sure which ones are good or bad, I've been to Newegg and they have tons of LCD monitors but I would like to know what people here use, do you have any problems with the monitors you have, any ghosting issues etc? I don't mind buying from my local computer store but they only have 2 models:

    19" KDS K-9BW 5ms
    19" ViewSonic Va1903wb 5ms

    BTW anyone have these?

With the Ergotron stand I need to have a monitor that has a detachable stand/base, I was looking at the Hanns·G JW-199DPB Black 19" 5ms DVI Widescreen and almost bought 4 when I happen to read one of the reviews and it stated that they couldn't remove the stand to work with the Ergotron Vertical stand, ouch! I need to be able to put it on the Ergotron. So I come here in hopes that someone can recommend a few brands of monitors.

    Thanks..

I have 3 samsung 940Ns on there way, i already have 1. These are a 19" 8ms 800:1 decent screen from a good manufacturer and was a pretty good price.
For my main screen i use a 22" CMV widescreen. Now CMV is from what i understand a brand who develops panels for many notebook platforms, at the start I was only loooking for a cheap 22" but i have to say its a very nice screen and im very pleased with it price & quality are excellent and it has been very reliable. The only thing is the on button is a little dodgy, but i mean if it doesnt come on if i turn it on i just have to press a little harder, but no big deal.
I am currently running wow tiled on my 19" and its just getting to the point where its just anoying.
I think you should try and shop around and not limited yourself to a selection out of 2 panels.

I love the Dell 24" Ultrasharps.. however Dell panels are usually just rebadged Samsung & LG panels. Can't go wrong with the Dell Ultrasharp, higher-end ViewSonic & Samsung displays.

viewsonic 22inch ws tft will take backseat to this, from what i've read this ben-q is meant to be top notch..

Viewsonic panels are pretty solid. I'm a big fan of the Dell panels, though. They are just rebadged Samsungs, but they're easier to get and often have more promotional discounts. If you wait a bit for the right time, you can get really nice prices on them.

This has some awful nice specs:

I have two Sceptre 21" and I am quite happy with them so far. Just something about the extra space and higher rez makes me happy in the pants.

There's a reason the Sceptre panels are inexpensive.. the few I've been exposed to have all been 6-bit panels. Especially the 19" and 21" models of around a year ago. It's bad enough where I can visibly see the color gradients. Same with the Hanns-G. Reponse time doesn't mean jack if the colors aren't smoothly blending.. I'd rather sacrifice some cash and a little response time for better colors, clarity, brightness, and contrast.

According to several posts on HardOCP, it seems these are the same TN panel as the Samsung 245BW and Dell E248WFP which seem to get some very reviews.

Sure, it's not a top of the line panel, but at that price point it's quite hard to beat for a 24" 1920x1600 display.

What id do is someting likeElo does:

I jsut tink it looks badass wen you flipp 2x 22" LCD screens, if you only put 1 window a screen its kinda a whaist of space in my opinion :S

I have a Samsung 245BW panel. Couple of notes to would-be buyers.

Its BIG. Really really BIG. I didn't quite grasp how big it was until I put it nex to my 20" LCDs (and those were big too!). make sure you've got lots of desk space for this thing. And its heavy too for an LCD.
True, for the $375 Dell charges for the 24" E248WFP right now, you can't beat the *size* for the price. However, saying that this TN panel is of great quality is pushing the truth. I've seen the E248WFP side-by-side with the older 24" 2405WFP Ultrasharp, and the older Ultrasharp looks much better in color representation, contrast, and viewing angle. The response time on the E248WFP may be slightly better, but compared to the newer 2407WFP model, there's NO comparison. Put them side-by-side and you'll see what I'm talking about.

The Ultrasharp models really do look that much better than the E-series. I could live with the E248WFP as an alt-monitor, but I want the main monitor I'm staring at to look better than these. I'd rather have a 20" or 22" Ultrasharp than the 24" E248WFP for a primary display.. dropping down to 1680x1050 is worth the better color representation and viewing angle.
