    Default Mixed worgen group

So far my boxing have mostly been 4+1 setups, e.g. pally+4hunters, priest+4 warlocks, pally+4priests.
Now I'm planning to try mixing five classes when setting up a worgen team. As a tank I want a DK, so up to lvl 58 I'll be playing only four chars and will be able to boost them as well with a lvl 80 char. Or should I put in another druid as a tank and replace it later with the DK? (Don't want a warrior).

My plan is to do level up by questing and just a few boosts to see the new world from allies point of view (I mostly play horde). So if I can't use dungeon finder with only four chars shouldn't be a big issue for me.

As the other four classes I plan to have: druid as healer and hunter, warlock, priest as dps.
However I'm also thinking about replacing the priest with a mage to get portal ability.

What do you think of my plans?

imho: change the hunter to mage.
in my experience, hunters tend to add mob groups rather happily. so after reading your post i'd suggest the following group constellation: blood dk, resto druid, arcane mage, destro lock, shadow priest.

try entering this group into http://raidcomp.mmo-champion.com/ and you'll get, where i'm coming from. this group is a rather optimal cast-damage group with all important buffs and debuffs and caster-only groups always seemed a little easier for me.

    just my 2 cents...

Thanks, I think I'll try it out exactly as you describe.

BTW, must a DK do all initial quests up to lvl 58 or can I summon with a warlock and start playing in a normal 55+ zone instead?

you have to do the initial quests, i think, to get your talent points. also i'm not sure about being friendly with the alliance without doing that shame-run to varian after the light's hope event.
my guess would be that porting him out of the starter zone is blocked. would make sense, i guess. lorewise the dk is still evil and under arthas' reign before he has done all the starter quests.

on the other hand - you could just try it out. if it doesn't work and your dk is talentless from then on... what's the harm? delete him and start again.
i for one would do the quests as they don't require that much time and you get that nifty starting blue gear which can last you to level 70 if you don't try real hard to replace it (i wouldn't try ....).

Sounds fine. You'll get over the lack of portals easily. I haven't had a mage in any of my groups for a long time and don't mind. In fact, flight paths are the perfect opportunity to grab another beer/wine/food/check email/youtube.
