Large latency difference between 2 of 5 accounts.
I recently upgraded my machine and all in all things are great.
one thing I did notice though 2 of my 5 accounts have significantly different latency than the others.
3 boxes/accounts are usually around 250 ms
2 are at 350ish ms.
Kind of odd as all are on same machine.
I think last night my main box and one of my slaves was at 350ms rest at 250. The odd thing is as I exited for the night I exited my high latency slave last. Even with all the other accounts closed he remained at 350ms (the second to last account was at 250ms when I exited). Watched it for a few minutes and it didn't change.
I suppose it is possible a couple of the accounts ended up with a longer route when connecting to the game.
But seems odd that could be such a big difference with 2 accounts on same computer with the same game settings.
Anyone have any ideas about this?

I been trying to trace down this problem, I have 6 machines on the same dsl and some are in the low 80ms and others in the 200ms or so (I picked my relm based upon close to data center).
Been swaping out NIC cards, using onboard, changing settings etc. etc. Using that stupid Killer NIC etc.
Maybe as you say the connection to the serve is different, Ill have to check pings. I know that in EQ characters who logged in later usually have better ping (i.e. people who have been online a long time get worse ping).
Maybe Blizzard give priority to characters on raids or outside of cites or higher level? Or maybe additional characters from the same ip are cut down a bit? Or maybe as you say its just completely random and routs to the server are different on a millisecond basis.
We have spent a LOT of time on texture lag but very little on ping lag.

The odd thing is all my chars are logged in with 1 min of each other, and are all within 2 feet of each other in the game and are all on the same physical machine...
I will check my lan drivers and make sure I have the latest...

You're not crazy ^_^ it happened to me really bad for a few weeks there.
I pinged and tracert'd my server (Kil'rogg) with some instructions from Blizz tech support, and found that the ping signals didn't go anywhere, and the route got choked up along the way with some insane response times around Vegas.
It was only happening in instances for a while. Then it would be fine in instances but happen out in the world. Autofollow was slow or nonexistant as a result.
Never figured out what causes it, but in one case one of the windows was just frozen and watching everyone run in place... yet if I typed in guild chat with her that would show up (even on her own window) but the mobs wouldn't start moving.
So blizzfail.
