Race change? with how cheap wow vanilla is, i just boosted a team of dwarves. Also boosted some horde so when cata comes, i can gift some goblins to 60 right away.

Yes, but the attraction is of having 80 Dwarf shamans on your accounts with your other toons, rather than 60 dwarf shamans on a vanilla account.

I'm guessing the boosted dwarves will be on the fully upgraded account, as well as the level granted goblins (not sure you can level grant cross faction though). The Vanilla account likely won't be upgraded and is just used for RAF benefits.

Your point about level 60 vs 80 is valid. Like many thinks, it's a question of time vs money

what i did is bought 4 vanilla copies. I linked each copy with a main account and boosted 2 mains and 2 vanillas at a time. I boosted 2 horde characters per account and 2 alliance(dorfs weren't out yet). for a total of 32 characters to 60. I gifted 60 levels to my alliance dorfs and going to gift 60 levels to my goblins. I also boosted paladins on each faction and 1 set of mages and 1 set of druids if i wanted to go that route in the future. It took about a week to get them all to 60.
