    Default Cataclysm Server Queue

    Hi all,
just wondering what was everyone's experience when WotLK hit the servers last time round and what is your current expectation this time as to queue times to get online. I know for both BC and WotLK I did not experience any wait times to get online but this time I am on a new server with a higher population and so wondering what other people's experiences have been? I witnessed our daughter on her realm (Firetree) waiting for over 30 minutes to get online the day WotLK was released.
    Views? Thoughts?

When BC came out it wasn't too bad on Bonechewer (a high pop server), maybe like 5 - 10 minutes. When Wrath came out, I remember logging on and being in a 20+ minute queue ("You are number 900 in queue..."). That kinda sucked trying to get five characters logged on.

Already getting queues on Kil'Jaeden. Not bad, though.

The improved phasing usage should clean up some zone 'resource contention' issues for questing and such.

I remember they were making a big deal out of upgrading the servers.
A given server would be down for 24 hours, but thereafter was much improved.

At the start of Burning Crusade, queues could be as much as two hours but that was atypical.
Half an hour, was fairly common but sometimes there wouldn't be a queue.

After they took our server down, and did their upgrades, the queues basically were nothing.
Or if there were queues, they were rather minimal.

With WotLK, there were occasionally very short queues, but nothing like during the launch of BC.
The servers went down frequently, but that happened with BC too, and likely will with Cataclysm.

Frostmourne had queues of over 2000 between expansions, let alone launch days, however the many upgrades and the massive amount of available realms has certainly improved things.

There will always be queues, there is no doubt about that, and I'm glad because the queues help to prevent server crashes and lag (they don't stop it all together, but it's better than the alternative)

Grim Batol EU is usually awfull in terms of queues when something new hits (patches too, imagine an expansion...).

I'm just wondering how it's going to happen? Since it's not maintenance day in Europe, if we're online, **PUFF**, new regions/vendors/masters just pop in front of us?

Have you seen any official information on how this is going to happen at 0:01?

    Cheers and a good day,
    A.
