Default Premades Only? Single queuers dont fret

Are there any plans to potentially add queueing to the rated battlegrounds instead of it having to be a pre-made raid team? I was really excited when I first heard about this feature, but after reading the FAQ i was a bit disappointed with that design.
we're currently looking into the possibility of having players in the honor battleground queue be able to be called to action by groups that aren't quite full, but we're going to see how the current queue'ing works out first so, that isn't something that would be available just yet

    Good and bad.

That will fill in groups a bit faster.
But if someone doesn't want to play very competitively, that forces their hand.

The best might be, if battlegrounds stay the same as they are now.
But they're also rated, all of them.
And maybe able to be entered as a raid.

Don't see that happening, but it would be nice.

I think they will need this. It's going to be too hard for most people to get 10 to 15 people together for a rated bg. It's hard to get a one premade together right now.

So you'll end up with the hardcore pvp guilds being able to field a team, but not many other people.

I agree with Kicksome. It's a great idea that you que with a full team but logistically it's going to be nigh-impossible. Within 6 months of Cata launch rated BG's will just be a separate que like regular BG's.

The flaw in their thinking (and the reason why they ditched 25 mans) is that whenever you queue up with a team for a premade, it requires each player to accept when the queue pops. Their words. So if one would be afk cause his wife is mad at him, the whole rated bg would fail and no one would be able to enter. Same thing applies to 15, though it's perhaps easier to manage that.

The most reasonable solution for me would be that when you queue up with 10 players, it takes 8 confirmations to start the bg, and the 2 can still join (teleport) when the bg is ongoing. If you have too many people who are always late, just boot them for the next time you form a premade. I.e. 80% (or 75%, whatever number will work) should accept the queue in order to start the bg.

I joined a PvP guild w/ a single toon. I don't PvP multibox anyway. We're specifically building teams to have rated bg. It's not going to be pleasant w/ a PuG going up against these teams. (not that it is now, but I'd imagine it's going to be even worse.)

Well, in theory a battlegroup is now either all of the US realms or all of the EU realms.
So the pool of players should be fairly large.

And with ratings, you'll go against teams as close to your rating as possible.
Not sure how mismatched things will be, but in theory... the organized super teams with high rating will get each other, and the useless pugs will have weak opposition too.

More likely than not, that is to be expected.
