Default Question regarding Dual Boxing Diablo2

Would it be possible to dual box diablo 2? for those that do not know the game mechanics:

    - It does not really work with macro's (atleast not that i know of)
    - I think it's impossible to follow a certain target
    - Attacking is done with right and left mouse click
    - You 'select' a target by hovering over it

I guess it's not possible to dual box this, since you would need acurate mouse hovering on your second account to kill the target.
If it is done before, or if anyone have tips for me. Please leave them here

    Thanks in advance

I would think the only way to do this is have one mouse for 2 computers. Same with the keyboard.

I used to do this a long time ago, but only to level up characters. Since there's no follow command, I'd have to manually move the other character within xp range of the main character doing the killing. Coordinated attacks would be very difficult since D2 uses a faster paced 'instant' attack system with mouse hovers instead of a series of timers and cooldowns with targets like WoW.

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.

Mouse intensive games are usually very difficult to multi-box. I did play a Sorceress to lvl 99 but, that was a long long time ago and don't imagine dual-boxing to be that amazing for it. Although... if you move somewhat slowly through the map I could imagine maybe a few necromancers would be awesome, just let all the pets run around.

Hehe I LOLed when I saw this post.

I still have 2x copies of D2 and the Expansions laying around somewhere. Well pretty much what everyone else is saying. most the major things to get around in Diablo involve mouse clicking. So I guess if you had something like 1 wireless mouse and 2 receivers on 2 pcs, they were both set to same resolution etc. You may be able to kinda pull it off.

As for using skills I haven't played in so long I forget if you use buttons or mouseclicks or whatever. I would have to look at it.

But I found that I would end up just controlling both guys or using the second account for transferring/organizing heaps of loot on mules etc.

Heh too bad all my accounts expired to I coulda hooked you up with gear for any class.

But your idea makes me wonder after I have dual boxed on WoW for a little while if maybe I should try this for kicks.

I guess if I ever pull myself away from WoW long enough I may try it

I actually tried to get back into D2X within the last 6 months, and although the game was a lot of fun for years, it just doesn't have the depth I want in a game anymore. I dual-boxed two characters to lvl 30 or so, only to 'forget' to play with other (better) games taking up my time - WoW, GuildWars, CS:S, CoD4. The cheating that is still going strong on the closed realms was too annoying to bother with it anymore.

I recently quit with WoW. I had loads of D2X accounts (toobad they got expired now). I just wanted to pick D2X up again and solo the whole game while dual boxing. Since WoW became to repetitive for me. But I guess thats not going to happen then

Funny, that's why I quit my re-attempt at D2X a few months ago.. constant cow/meph/pindle/eldritch/baal runs were far too repetitive. For a multiplayer game, WoW is much more friendly than D2 - good luck finding someone to party with who doesn't cheat or ninjaloot, yet speaks your language in D2.

I'm just going to play D2X with friends a bit till Mythos gets released. That game will blow WoW away
Saves me time/money for now. In my opinion D2 > WoW pve-story wise aswell.

    dual boxing isnt really necessary

    hammerdin/javazon with farcast > all

tele to baal or whatever u want, TP for zon, and rape...

seriously it's not hard to rape with a single character.

diablo 2 PVE wise is the biggest bore fest EVER. I got a concentration barb, Zealer x3, hammerdin and javazon to 99... it takes FOREVER!!!

just d2loader it up... i did it for years... no banage.
