Default Glyphs - Customization based on the situation.

Prior to 4.0.1, I'm sure most of us purchased the six best glyphs for each of our specs.
We learnt them, and then forgot about them.
The cost of a glyph might have been 25-50g, if it was a more rare glyph that was available less (supply/demand) because it was a top choice for your class/spec in their chosen element of the game PvE/PvP.

Now our glyphs cost so much.
But it is a one time expense; once you learn it, you have it forever.
And the cost of Vanishing Powder is almost nothing.
So we can unlearn a glyph for a very small cost, and replace it with an already known glyph for no cost beyond learning it the first time.
This opens up a new tactic.

Unlearn Glyph A, which we use in Situation A.
And replace it quickly and easily with Glyph B, which is better in Situation B.
Do the equivalent of 5-min Fire Elementals in Battlegrounds, but switch to Lavaburst or Shocking in Arena.
Possibly even... given a bit of time, changing the glyph mid-fight, after seeing what the opposition is fielding.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

Afaik you can only clear a glyph slot during a BG, not activating a new one (i even believe this goes for preparation phase)

Well.. could customize based on whether you're going to be raiding, running heroics, farming, arena or battlegrounds.

Not quite as flexible as I'd like.
But still can go with more then 3 Prime, 3 Major and 3 Minor that never change once selected.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

I'm curious to know if there is API to call the replacement Glyphs by script.

I swapped out Primal Glyph of Flame Shock for Primal Glyph of Fire Elemental totem.

5 Minute Eles + Lava + Lightning Bolt is great. I already refresh FS quite often due to my cast sequence resetting often due to LvB proccing.

+1 would be nice to have a macro that equips your PvP gear + PvP talents/glyphs all at once.

I've always gone with glyph of shocking for PvE and PvP since I use it nearly every CD, why doesn't anyone else use it lol?

Looks like you can remove glyphs, but the other function seems to rely on the cursor.

    http://www.wowwiki.com/Api#Glyph_Functions

GetNumGlyphSockets() - Returns the number of Glyph Sockets available at max level. (Same result as NUM_GLYPH_SLOTS)
GetGlyphSocketInfo(socketID[, talentGroup]) - Returns info on a specific Glyph Socket.
GetGlyphLink(socketID[, talentGroup]) - Returns link text for a Glyph in the desired Socket.
GlyphMatchesSocket(socketID) - See if the Glyph held by the cursor matches the desired Socket.
PlaceGlyphInSocket(socketID) - Places the Glyph held by the cursor into the desired Socket.
RemoveGlyphFromSocket(socketID) - Removes the Glyph from the desired Socket.

Many is the time I carried stacks of Fire elemental Glyphs to use when soloing five mans, only to switch on raid nights.

But then again, having my own inscriber, it was easy to do with the one ink per glyph at the time.

I can see me doing the same thing, esp. as Ualaa suggested Vanishing being so cheap. In fact I can't think of any reason why any class can't switch glyphs depending on boss fights.

Well that is unless there is a reason on cata bosses that would prohibit it. CC glyphs maybe?
