    Unhappy Help with a Rogue

    Hi all,
so about a week ago I finally dinged with my Combat specced rogue. This was one of the longest times to level a toon I have taken mainly due to the fact that it just felt like killing stuff was so hard
So my question now is, at 80 what should I be speccing and gearing this rogue to? I only want to get him in some basic gear with Cat out in a few weeks but currently I even hate this toon even at 80.
    Help!!!

I really like a Mutilate (Dagger) spec on a rogue.
It was originally Mutilate/Preparation, for PvP.
But 4.0.1 broke that, and I spec'd Mutilate for PvE.

Mine does have a combat off-spec, from when I was raiding on the toon.
If you want combat, basically blow your cooldowns often.
Adrenaline Rush, Blade Flurry and Killing Spree.
AR/BF and BF/KS combine well, but AR/KS not so much as you don't need energy for attacks made while using Killing Spree.

I would only use combat for raiding/heroics. Either Mutilate or Subtlety.

Mutilate provides fast combo point generation and some big numbers on mutilate, however since you don't have daggers, Sub is a good alternative. I've been sub since vanilla and can't see myself ever moving away. Besides, dual-axes look kick ass on a rogue.

My rogue is sub and I just recently leveled him to 80:

With sub, if you have take energetic recovery + improved recuperate + deadly momentum, you'll find yourself with very little downtime as once you get slice and dice up and recuperate, you can jump from mob to mob and never have to refresh it. Basically stealth up, ambush, a few hemo's, then a finisher.

This toon still has more played time on it than all four of my boxed teams added together, which is sad considering I've barely touched him this last year.

Are you boxing with the rogue? If so I would think mut is the way to go. In solo play w/e is the most fun would work. I pref sub on my rogue even when it was crappy. Also if leveling is so crappy on your rogue, u should have just pvp leveled him. That is the most fun ever I have found in this game. I really enjoyed my rogue in the early bgs.

I am really just solo playing him at the moment. I may add him to a team at 85, not sure. I have 3 other rogues sitting at lvl 61 from my RAF leveling.
I did try PvP with him but really do not enjoy PvP in general

Ya guess pvp isn't for everyone. But if its bc u get owned, try getting your rogue geared up, I usually check the twink charts at www.shadowpanther.com for items then lightly twink him. Nothing is worse then pvp undergeared. It's no fun.

If you hit up call of arms on weekends the xp is huge! Below 60 was nearly a full lvl your first win. After that its about half - 1/3. Losses provide good xp too. If its rough, I just ran 1 80 with my rogue and cleared instances. Good xp there too.

Another thing, for your 60 rogues- that bracket is fantastic for twinking. You can get most gear from outlands at 64+. If I was you I'd hit those up!

Ualaa, any luck macro'ing your Mut Rogue in 4.0.1? My rogue is just 76 but I could only manage around 1.2k dps with a macro (1.7k solo).

Haven't tried to macro the rogue much.

Was my raid toon, until that guild fell apart.
And did the odd battleground, with friends.

The toon is currently employed at the auction house, listing items and retrieving them from the mail box.
I have a feeling she siphons off a bit from the sales, but haven't been able to prove anything yet.
