I'd suggest to read some of this:

"The biggest blunder was to simply craft a batch of goods from the materials that I had and to flood the auction house by listing them all at once. We're not talking small batches of 2-5 here, I'm talking Wal-mart sized batches of anything upto 50, seriously looking back I feel a complete nubcake."
""What Mistakes Have You Learned From While Playing the AH!
- Trying to buy a market.
- Not knowing the market.
- Trying to go for the big score, instead of a bunch of little scores."
Justmytwocopper often adds stuff from loads of other goldblogs, this is a post like that with the title: "lessons" learned. I have absolutely no experience in trying to control a market, i gave several markets a shot which results in not having to worry about having no gold.
Personally, i don't think you can pull something off like that. You only need 1 or 2 active players to undercut you, who also have a guildbank filled with netherweave cloth and the prices will drop fast.
