    Default Alert Cata Levelers!!

If you're currently leveling toons, in preparation for cataclysm, STOP AT 79 !!!!

Unless you want to get some out of date gear for some reason to replace when Cata hits, wait at 79 until Cata is here. The rested XP does not stack when you are 80, so you are essentially missing out on some leveling speed once the patch hits.

Just a thought, realized it today, my level 76 melee team will be stopping at 79 until Dec 7th (more like Dec 10th since the game won't be available)

The only reason this would be irrelevant is if you think that my obtaining some good level 80 gear, your leveling experience will somehow be easier in Cata. I think at most I'll get some crafted pieces of gear for the levelers so they arn't so far behind in the early days.

shouldn't you stop at 78.5? rested xp is maxxed at 30 bubbles (1.5 levels)

or are you saying that if you stop at 79.9 you'll have level 80 fully rested up to 81.4 ?
methinks you'll only get rested up to level 80, but not sure

Have had some toons with a lot more rested then others, at the start of an expansion.
Not sure if this was ever fixed, with rested capping.

I seem to remember having just a couple of bubbles on some.
And more then a level on others, when starting Burning Crusade.

But don't think I had much initial rested, with WotLK on any toons.
Might have just raced to 70th on each team, and dinged with very little rested, not sure on that.

If you hit 80, your rest is wiped, but if you only get to 79, it should stay.

You only get rested from 79 - 80 then. I showed up to Wrath a few months late, after being level 70 in TBC, and I didn't apply
an actual Wrath game code to my account until the day I started back up and I had no rested at all. How does stopping at level
79 give you rested past level 80 in Cataclysm?

I agree. I'm betting rested only starts accruing for levels past 80 once you've upgraded your account and the content is available (i.e. date of release). Until then they will cap your rested to not go past the level cap. In other words, it won't do you any good to stop at 79.9 and park yourself in an inn. Who knows, I could be wrong

If you are at the max level for your account, which you were at 70 with no upgrade to wrath, or as all 80s currently are, you STOP getting more rest.

If your character in question had been 69 without wrath upgrade, it probably would have had rest until 71 ish (since it stores 2x your level's worth of exp, and wrath levels are greater in requirement than BC, and Cata will be to Wrath's levels.

Only max level toons stop obtaining exp.

Max rested is 1.5 levels, but, I just don't see a reason why if the ceiling cap of rested is currently level 80, how you are going
to magically get around it? I guess we shall see come December 7th.
