Default Problem with mouse repeater and double VGA

    HI all!
As Fenril suggest to me, here is the original start of our discussion: http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=32644

take a look there then continue here

here some screenshot of my problem with multiple VGA and mouse repeater..
The "fake" cursor into the alts windows is not in the same position of the Main one..

    Quick facts:
until 2 weeks ago i had just one VGA and the same system was running quite good..
just a bit too low on fps.. then i got for free a second one VGA and i've start to smash my head into the wall for set it properly...
Vga 1 (Ati Radeon 4870 1 Gb) connected to Monitor 1 (Lg Flatron w2242S 22")
Vga 2 (Ati Radeon 4870 1 Gb) connected to Monitor 2 (Lg Flatron w2242S 22")
    Both monitors @1680*1050
    All the 5 pg @1680*1050

    so here what is happening:
broadcasting activated.. you can see the cursor rounded by the yellow circle.

little move on the main --> result on big movement on alts

hem.. on the left side of the Main there will be Vuhdo or healbot
the cursor position is really different

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hummm .. here some isboxer & innerspace screen for the dual VGA configuration, just in case there will be the causes of my problem

innerspace: added 2 games, one for the Main (Maestrale) and one for the 4 alts (bimbi = sons)

innerspace: on Maestrale game and in Bimbi game, set the VGA that will render the game itself into the game configurator
Primary for Maestrale, secondary for the 4 bimbi

    then innerspace is ready..

    Now..
You have to set the team (my one is RONIN) into Isboxer
add the 5 character into "character" tab
add the team into "Character Sets" and drag there all the names....

btw i suggest you to do it by the wizard command in the top bar of Isboxer.. quick, simple, smooth.

You have to set for the Main and for the alts the right profile now!
Maestrale with the maestrale profile.. connected to the primary VGA into primary monitor
4 Alts with the "bimbi" profile... connected with the secondary VGA into the secondary monitor

    IMPORTANT:
You have to take out the swap hot character & istant swap
Otherwise the main pg (propriety of the primary monitor & primary Vga) will switch to the secondary monitor (propriety of the secondary Monitor and secondary Vga) and there will be a mess with conflict while trying to rendering the game and you will have a DRAMMATICALLY lost in fps.

Big Doubt: what about the desired rendering size? i've try to lunch the 5 wow with this options IN and OFF without any concrete results...

then the layout: 1 Main in monitor 1 and 4 Alts in monitor 2

If you look at monitor 2, the 4 windows are set to 840*525..
in game resolution the 4 alts are @1680*1050
the same layout i've use for over 1 year with a single VGA without any issue of mouse broadcasting..
Now i really don't know where is the problem.

Any advice is greatly welcome. See u in game!

Just started using ISBoxer and I'm getting exactly the same problem, where the mouse position on scaled windows isn't being scaled at all, and treats them all as if they were the same size as the main, full sized one, so the middle of the main windows has the mouse cursor in the bottom right of all the slaves.

My setup is slightly different, as I have 2 gfx cards, 4 monitors, and my WoW instances run on 2 outputs from one card, while the other 2 handle web browsing and my boxing program.

I also tried it with the 2 displays on the 2nd gfx card disabled through the windows contol panel, but the cursors were still off, so I'm guessing it's got something to do with having a 2nd gfx card in the system, even if it's not being used for any rendering.

    Fixed. Turn on 'Instant Swap'.

The ISBoxer interface doesn't make it at all clear that it operates seperately from the rest of the section it's in, and needs to be on even if the rest of that section is disabled.

I've switched back to the single vga setup...
with the istant swap i got 10/15 fps on all windows...

Glad that you have fixed your problem with that

I give the second vga to a friend of mine as a gift...

    See u in game

    Multiple monitors is quite nice.
I've been thinking of a second monitor, for the slaves for quite some time.

    However, with instant swaps...
Even very small slave windows have worked so far, as I just need to be able to notice something in a window, and then instant swap if I need to.
And with Jamba forwarding chat to the main window, I don't need to switch often.

You can use two GFX cards and run your sessions across them. I have two adaptors and five displays running three sessions on an ATI5850, one per monitor, and one session on my old 4850, on one of it's two connected displays. The last display is for reserved for browsing, and running ISBoxer to make config changes (It's still early days with ISB for me).

In order to do this you need to create multiple WoW profiles within Innerspace, one for each display adaptor, as Ladolcevita shows in the original post. When creating a team, ensure that toons are using the correct WoW profile for the display region it will be running on. Getting this wrong may cause a session to be rendered on one card but displayed on the other, resulting in sub 15 fps on all windows.

In theory this isn't too complicated, and Lax has a pretty good guide to the subject somewhere (I forget where) but I did run into a hitch. I found it was vital that the toons start up in the correct order, regardless of correct WoW profile settings. In other words, I had to open three toons on one adaptor before opening the final one on the second card. Mixing the order just produced disgustingly low frame rates and no amount of window swapping would bring them back. In fact, I even found the "Character Set" slot order to be insufficiently reliable at opening sessions in sequence and eventually had to prefix my character names with a numeric so they were displayed in the "Character" tree in the order I wished them opened.

Now this prefixing made no sense to me at all, it was an act of desperation trying it in the first place, but it DID correct all my problems. I can now reliably set up and start a team, frame rates only drop on the rare occasions I choose to swap windows across adaptors, but fps does return to normal after a few seconds of swapping back. This would probably make the use of main toon on one card and four slaves on the second card pointless as every swap would kill frame rates. It only works for me as I have 4 full resolution, full screen, sessions running and have no need to swap at all.

Mouse broadcasting works correctly with "Instant Swap" enabled, which is important as it forces all windows to be rendered at the same resolution (as I understand it), making pixel perfect mouse mapping possible.

Ualaa, multiple displays on a single adaptor require no complex setup. It just works.

Yes, but you aren't scaling sessions to fit more than one on a monitor, and THAT is where the problems lie.

With Instant Swap on the scaling works fine, but the FPS hit is huge.

With it off the FPS is fine but the scaling isn't happening.
