    Default keyclone or isboxer.

Hi all, been looking at multiboxing for a few days now ( gosh i know long time..) and I am pretty new to wow itself.

Well I took the plunge and got myself a second account and upgraded it to TBC ( used RAF).

I have a keyclone license from ages ago, used it for a project in college.

However... I am having some problems. Firstly there seems to be a lack of love for it anymore. what I mean for this is it took me a fair while to find posts to set it up!

All the posts seem to be about innerspace and ISBoxer. Is it really that great a programme over keyclone? How hard is it to setup. I have seen a few guides but 1 indepth setup was 8 pages ( rather 8 full posts) long! if it takes that long to describe how to set up, how long will that take to learn and understand!

Anyhow, basically asking if its worth looking into innerspace, or wether its better to stick with keyclone and keep digging the dust off the older guides?

Sorry for my bad spelling I am partially dyslexic.

maybe this thread can help you:
    http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=31275

    TLDR (too long, didn't read):
Keyclone is cheaper and easier, but ISBoxer is so much more powerful that it is worth spending the time working it.
I have keyclone, but have now moved to ISBoxer.

KC is decent, and free forever.
If you don't have a lot of ground click effects, and are mostly a PvE player, it works great.
For the most part, you use wow macros and control what is pushed by dragging a spell onto a given hotkey for some characters but not others.

IS Boxer is a subscription option, about $36/year.
It does auto FTL, so the slaves assist the main, without a need for macros to do this; which is huge for PvP and nice for PvE.
You can set up repeater regions, where mouse broadcasting turns on if your mouse is in the area -- which opens click based healing (via Healbot, Grid+Clique or Vuhdo) from any toon on your team.
You can set hotkeys (mapped keys) to turn on broadcasting for the next click (and then auto turn off), which is great for Hurricane, Death & Decay, Mass Dispel, Blizzard etc.
IS Boxer is much more flexible; you can send commands to Current Window, Other Windows (independent slave movement, if you run PvE dungeons a lot), or to toons in a group which you define who belongs to the group.
You can set up clickable icons (tied to mapped keys/hotkeys) on your screen, which opens a lot of options too.

The basic set up for either program is fairly easy.
IS Boxer has a wizard, and KC is basically getting the program to recognize the wow windows.
If you want to go beyond that, IS Boxer has a bit of a learning curve, but once you understand the basics of how it does something, it is quite logical.
There's a lot of support (here) and on www.isboxer.com, and on the IRC on the isboxer webpage. Keyclone has a telephone number on his site www.solidice.com/keyclone ,which gets you support too.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

cheers for that link zub. I'm thinking of going with isboxer. I have no addons atm apart from: atlas loot, macaroon. I only got macaroon today as it was going to be my hidden action bar for hotkeystrings in keyclone.

What addons are suggested for multiboxing? OFC jamba but any others I should definatly get?

I am testing the fps of 5boxing on the same pc. I am using keyclones maximiser and the max fps options and they are all maxing out at 20fps in background and 60fps in the foreground with 5 clients running.

    ( 4gb ram, 2.8ghz dual core cpu, HD2950pro gfx card and a 300GB HDD at 7200rpm. )

Does isboxer have the same limiting feature as keyclone? I dont want the slaves running riot on the fps and burning the card to pieces for no reason!

While I wait for answers I'm going to trial isboxer and see what its like for a bit XD

ok, next step is to choose my team, My aim will be instancing with them in 5mans up to heroics, maybe some raiding but if i do that it will probably be solo raiding. ( or single boxed raiding with others would be a better way of saying it!)
'I'm thinking of having a paladin tank, holy priest, mage, boomkin and then maybe a hunter?

Any ideas or advice on the team?

I'm also thinking of having a pvping team of 5 shammies ( yeah typical i know but.. it works so why fix what aint broke! )

How long does getting a trial of innerspace take normally? i guess lax has to manually allow it?

I'm not aware of any step-by-step guides with pictures for ISboxer but Lax has a youtube video that goes through a simple setup. here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoZG6b9HjnM

Also, the quick start guide is pretty simple. http://www.isboxer.com/index.php/com...ck-start-guide

Once you get up and going with a basic setup, Ualaa's guide to ISboxer is a must read.

If you are having trouble with a specific issue, I would also check out the ISboxer's IRC channel. More often than not there are people in there that can help.

I've only been using ISboxer for a few weeks so I'm still learning and customizing things for the way I like to play but I'm very happy with it. It is such a feature rich program that you just have to put in some time to understand how it works. My boxing consists of PvE with mixed groups and the healing options with repeater regions and click maps are what sold me on ISboxer.

    Good luck!
