Gentlemen,
I recently upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7, and now when I run two or more windows of WoW, I have a huge fps drop, from 59-60 to 6-10, but before I upgraded to Windows 7, I could run them quite easily.
What did I do wrong? D:
Gentlemen,
I recently upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7, and now when I run two or more windows of WoW, I have a huge fps drop, from 59-60 to 6-10, but before I upgraded to Windows 7, I could run them quite easily.

what are your computer specs
Eh, nothing special, but;
Q6600 @2.40GHz Quad core,
4 Gb RAM,
Windows 7 64bit
and a 2GB ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT.
Amidoinitrite?
On Vista I was able to run multiple smoothly, now it's just irritating to play.
back up your WoW WTF folder, inside the folder is a file called "config.wtf". Delete this file to reset all video settings to default and set everything on low (for testing purposes) for each client, exit WoW and restart the clients again.
ground clutter, water effects, sunshafts(sunbeams?), shadow quality, view distance, texture filtering and environment effects can cause major fps loss if set too high.
if you upgraded to windows 7 over vista instead of formatting hard drive and installing windows 7, make sure there are no left over programs/services from the vista install running. press ctrl+alt+esc and see what is causing all the memory/cpu to be used. keep in mind if you have prefetch on, the memory will be listed as low and most of it cached, this is ok. turn off or alter the "windows indexing service" so that it does not run constantly. this indexing service can cause high HDD usage and thrashing, also make sure you are running in performance mode for "power settings"
Alright so I tried deleting the config and setting it back to low, this made my fps go to around 13-19 now with two WoW's open, is this the best I can get it to? Or is there anything else I could try?
EDIT: For some reason, after posting, it went to 29-30 fps on both, but then I tried a third window and then it went to 3-4 fps. Is this normal? Kinda new to this anyway.

Are you doing this w/o any addons running? There are plenty of addons at the moment which drop your FPS to practically nothing because they're not compatible with 4.0.1.

Uh.... I play on a private server... :x Is that against the rules here? Or just heavily frowned upon? And the server is still on 3.3.5a.
My apologies, I should've checked beforehand. Thanks anyway.
