Mecurio's Cataclysm Multiboxing Macros

I'm a bit confused. I've been away from MB for roughly 9 months and thought of giving it a go again
pre-cata expansion. However with all the procs going on I find it really hard to do any decent dmg.

This post was a big eye opener but I fail to see how sending ';' will do wonders for my dps.

I mean... There is no way I can keep track of all procs from 5 dps, and send the proc macro to
the one that is currently under the effect. Unless automated, and (ideally) linked to the same key
it simply won't happen. Will this toggle effect acomplish this?

Hey Tranz, you may already know this, but the ";" that you get ISBoxer to send half the time won't do anything unless you associate the ";" keypress to a button on your quick bars that fires off the Proc Macro for whatever toon you are running.

Once you associate the "2" key with the Sequence Macro and the ";" key with your Proc Macros, you never have to keep track of any procs for any of your toons. The macros are set up to optimize your DPS when you simply spam "2" on your keyboard. ISBoxer alternates your keypresses and you end up with great DPS.

Dude. Just watched a 30 minute video on the optimum Frost Mage rotation. Good crap, that is complicated. Frost is sooo dependent on Fingers of Frost procs and Brain Freeze to determine if Frost Bolt, Frostfire Bolt, or Ice Lance is the best DPS at any point in time and any of those three spells are castable any time, so macroing this to be near optimal is impossible. The other major factor is that you want to cast your PET's TARGETED AOE spell Freeze every time it is off cooldown (25 s) to do good damage. What a pita.

The other thing is that with my arcane macros my mages do 2nd-best damage in my group (just behind my locks), so I don't have a need to mix things up. I was going to spend some time trying to optimize things for frost, but for now, I'll trust that you have done your homework and just post your macro in the compendium. Thanks for sharing.

Frost does seem to be a pita atm and my macros are not super optimized but I can tell you that a 3x frostbolt 1x frostfire bolt seems to work pretty well. I will read up on when to icelance. I haven't touched the pet ability yet and if I have to manage that as well then it might be time for me to spec arcane. We have other forms of replenishment in raid and so frost would only be nice for my 5-man.

I ditched Frost. Well, I Dual Specced him. I really want to have one of my mages be Frost but they will both be arcane for now. DPS went from 2100 to 3900 just by respeccing, lol. My shaman are about the same as they were pre 4.0.1 but my warlock went off the charts. Sweetness.

Now i'm wrestling with my assassination rogue macro, but I intend to only play him solo. I can't imagine boxing a with a rogue. I know some do it just fine but it's outside of what I want to do, I think.

EDIT: Since these macros seem to be of help to a number of folks, I've added more instructions for how to set the "2 Step" up in ISBoxer here:

If you are using Lax's "FTL DPS Keys" keymap, you already have a "DPS 2" mapped key that simply sends the keypress of a "2" to all windows when you press "2".
Create another mapped key within "FTL DPS Keys" called "2 Step" that is also called when you press "2" but has two steps - the first sends "2" to all windows (exactly as above), while the second step sends ";" to all windows.

Now all you need to do is set up a new mapped key in your "Control" key map. I called mine "2 Step Toggle" and associated it with the "Insert" key. It will have two steps in it.
Step one has 3 actions:
1) A new mapped key state action (one of the options when you add a new step) that toggles the "DPS 2" mapped key within "FTL DPS Keys" to On
2) A new mapped key state action that toggles the "2 Step" mapped key within "FTL DPS Keys" to Off
3) A popup text with a message like "2 Step Turned OFF"
Step two has 3 actions:
1) A new mapped key state action that toggles the "DPS 2" mapped key within "FTL DPS Keys" to Off
2) A new mapped key state action that toggles the "2 Step" mapped key within "FTL DPS Keys" to On
3) A popup text with a message like "2 Step Turned ON"

That's it! Use "Insert" to turn your toggle on or off.

Attach the sequence macros to your "2" key in WoW and the proc macros to your ";" key in WoW. Done.

You still have not yet made use of the Soul Fire instant cast proc?

I noticed the firemage will use it with /cast pyroblast!, but /cast soul fire! won't work like that. You left it out because it's impossible to put in?

Using the 2 step and working like a charm, nice quick way to get my 5 man team up and running again.
