Anytime I see a blue screen I first suspect the ram.

Lower the ram speed in the bios and see what happenes.

Frankly you should always have an extra stick of ram (or two) so you can swap out unill things work ...... its a bit costly but given that in my experience 90 percent of all my hardware failures have been ram well.

A Dell technician checked out my computer and it turns out the eBay seller put his own RAM in the laptop, which is why there are so many problems. I'm really surprised a powerseller would try to do that to make a few extra bucks especially since he was already selling the laptop at a decent profit. The seller is supposed to send me some new RAM soon.

GG. Good that you caught him right there. Did he advertise the laptop as new, unopened ? should report him to ebay and fight for a refund. I wouldn't settle for something like replacing the ram since he is being dishonest. Can't trust ebay ratings or online in general. I bet he shipped a lot of laptops with same shitty ram, and ppl didn't notice. Still give him good ratings.
