    Default Mages Macro 4.0.1

Did they make it so that boomkin and mages can't be macroed as easy as locks and shamans and spriests? I am having the hardest time finding a good rotation to use on them so they become usefull again in my multi box group?

Any one seeing the same thing?

Well I use a nostromo pad when I play, so all I did was have my dps button and F2 macroed in on the pad. I spam my dps button, it also spams F2. So when Arcane missles becomes active, I will already be hitting f2 as well. Works ok for me that way. Is that legal? Dont know. but works fine hehe.

Druids have always been a challenge. Managing Eclipse procs is a pain. I don't have any problems with my mages. What spec are you using?

    Arcane is easy:

    /use 13
    /use 14
    /cast arcane power
    /castsequence [nochanneling] arcane blast,
    /cast [nochanneling] arcane missiles.

as per several other threads, the arcane missiles will attempt to cast in the small periods of latency between the castsequence spells (in this case the one cast sequence spell). If AM is not available, the castsequence will cycle on to the next AB automatically, if it is available then it will fire off an AM. The only issue here is if you go a while without a proc you will be firing off some expensive ABs so if mana is a problem you can include an arcane barrage in your castsequence to break the buff.

I think druids are actually easier now than previously because eclipse is not really a true proc anymore. Wrath give 13.33 points towards eclipse, Stasurge gives 15 in either direction and Starfire gives 20 (at least for me). You can either run an arcane macro which you hit when you have a moon eclipse ie. castsequence moonfire, starfire, starfire, starfire, starfire, starfire and an equivalent nature macro.

Alternatively 10 starfires will take you from a moon eclipse to a sun eclipse and 15 wraths will take you the other way. Weave in some starsurges (unfortunately does not allow for instant starsurge use) and dots and you have an entire castsequence for moonkin dps.

Toned I did that macro and it worked fine. When I tried to add /cast mirror image to the first part it would never cast the arcane missiles. Any thoughs?

Try adding it in the clicker just underneath the /clicks im not at home right now ill test it later... I don't want my mage popping mirror images on trash... I make all my boss dps cooldowns f6 on all chars... Mirror images being one of them, so I've never ran into this.

With a 3 minute cooldown I usually wait a few minutes before I do a hard boss if I need every cooldown and trinket. I like blowing mirror image on the entire run because the cooldown is so small.

If you have mana problems, put the arcane blast sequence like this:

/castsequence [nochanneling] arcane blast, arcane blast, arcane blast, arcane blast, arcane barrage

that way you wont cast more than 4 arcane blasts in a row.

Only downside of this macro, is that its very luck dependant, and DPS will fluxuate a lot. If you consistenly proc arcane missiles after 1-2 arcane blasts, you wont benefit much from the stacking buff that arcane blast gives you. I had some tests on the dummies, and one time, I got a near perfect proc rate, just about every 4th AB, id proc a missiles, and I did like 9k DPS (including one 42k crit...) and another time, I got the proc too often, and only did 5-6k dps. Other times, I wouldnt get a proc very often at all, and i'd run oom very quickly. I had to switch between molten armor and mage armor as my mana dropped.

I also tried fire mage, and we still have the issue of Pyroblast procs. If they made pyroblast work like arcane missiles proc, it would be a cinch, but as it is now, you only want to be casting pyro when it procs, otherwise its low dps. Maybe Frost isn't so bad now?

As for mirror image, I've found that these types of macros only work when one spell that's not part of the sequnce (not counting the buffs that arent on the GCD like arcane power, etc. Best way around it is to have a second button for starting a boss fight.
