Well, let me say that due to being totally new to multiboxing and admittedly being in a bit of a rush I ended up not finding ISBoxer or Keyclone, but finding that software-which-will-not-be-named instead. And ended up paying for it.

Partially, because I found no realistic reviews of it online. (I have somewhat corrected that on my personal site: http://www.lasivian.com/?p=552)

In purging that name from your site you are only preventing newbies to multiboxing from easily discovering how bad that software is. I dearly wish I could have found a true review of it when I first was searching for boxing software, or even a mention of how bad the community thinks it is.

The main reason why it's not named, is because the creator isn't welcome here anymore. I'll just stick to my own thoughts and say it's probably not wanted to start a flamefest about it.

What important is that people know dual-boxing.com and that's something we can work on.

With regard to the person who is not welcome here and not mentioning the product, I could see someone making a case that talking about how bad it is here without any kind of a way to let the person respond could be seen as risking libel or whatever it is, and causing harm to this person's business. Probably safest for db.com to just not have anything to do with it.

What I do to make sure people don't get taken in by bad software is promote the hell out of the tools that I do use and like and are well supported. Lax has done a fabulous job with ISBoxer, Jafula with Jamba, and this site is a fabulous resource. So whenever I get "how do you DO that?!" tells from people, I point them here and there.

I'm sorry, I did not want to start a flame war or the like, and I won't mention the software by name, but I do feel like I was ripped off by that other product, and I thought I was being cautious and using google to check what I was getting into. Due to this I have a desire to correct that "problem" if I can.

And I have run into other people who have made the same mistake, they too wish they could have found something negative about the software to raise a red flag.

Yes, I got into boxing by simply suddenly thinking "I should get a second account". I didn't know anyone that boxed, and still don't in-game. (Aside from 2 that tried to get me to use the unnamed software after I had stopped using it).

dual-boxing.com is, as far as I know, not linked to any software whatsoever. The authors of isboxer, hotkeynet/mojo, keyclone (in the past), manyofwows, & jjamba post here. Cause they follow the rules and common sense. Apparently someone didn't follow the rules here in the past and broke them multiple times. The other guy is using the same marketing techniques, slang/slogans like those goldsellers/goldguides/levelinguides tend to use. From miles away you smell there is something wrong.

Frankly I think the majority of the users don't care what software you are using to box. It's just that we don't want to deal with topics / questions who don't follow some basic rules. If you want to say here why isboxer is crap, go ahead. The happy users will try to prove you wrong. But I've never seen a software author inhere telling that his product is the best and that the others are shit, They only mention a feature their product has to answer a question. And that doesn't bother anyone.

I agree with Lasivian, he makes a very good point. When I was looking to get started with multi-boxing, I found this website and "the one that shall not be named". I looked a little into each software option that they mentioned and I regrettably plumped for the wrong one as it initially seemed the simpler option for a newbie boxer. I regret that decision, and I've since moved on (to software that I've written myself). I find the software to be incredibly buggy, and very poorly supported to the point where obvious and serious bugs are simply dismissed or regarded as features.

I still visit (actually, lurk) both sites, and I see a lot of cross-postings so obviously there are a number of users there that also visit this site. I'm also seeing a lot of new users over there. I expect that like me, many of them will eventually move onto other software, but it would be better to inform them before they've handed over their hard-earned cash to fund his ongoing operations.

As a solution, I'd suggest maybe a single page summarizing all the software options for newbies and highlighting the problems with this particular software, rather than sweeping it under the carpet.

The reason that software is not named here is because any use of it's name is advertising for it. Hell this is nearly advertising for it. The author / dev / whatever of that software has violated the rules of this site multiple times as well as many other issues our members have had here. It's simply easier to block any trace of it. If someone wants to go use it, use it at their own risk.

The only software that Dual-Boxing.com officially remotely endorses is ISBoxer because the author of that software has offered absolutely amazing support to his customers as well as financially supporting this site. Keyclone is another software package that has financially supported us. That is why you see those two software apps promoted here.

Closing this thread since the discussion of the software mentioned in the OP is not welcome here, and should be discussed in that software's own forums.
