    Forgive me, I read this whole thread twice but I'm not really following the change to macro function and how it effects casting exactly. It looks to me like the same thing I've been using with my druid tank macro that looked something like this (from memory, not exact!)

    /castsequence reset=combat Mangle, Lacerate, Lacerate
    /castrandom Maul

    This worked just fine before the patch and whatever changed with macro function, rotating through the cast sequence and firing maul every time it was available and I had the rage for it.

    Is this the same idea that is being discussed here? Or are we able to call 2nd, 3rd etc buttons inside the macro like we did with click, and the ability will fire if it can and not hang the macro if it can't fire (i.e. not off CD yet), and the only thing that really changed is that we can't time macro spam speed with commas like we did previously with /click?

    Maybe I answered my own question, it made a lot more sense as I thought it through to write it down LOL

    So I have thought about the way the macro's work and if blizzard just wanted to remove the automation which was possible with the comma system, then removing the wait on each spell to become available is actually a good alternative and works for the general community, not just people who knew about commas and click macros.
    I am going to be optimistic and say that this was intentional

    omg......just tested this macro and lol'ed a good bit.

    .....and 19k damage Earthshock ftw!

    And yes, I know, I probably need fewer Lightning Bolts in there, or more, depending on my haste - I'll be calibrating this tonight!

    Edit: I am a dummy, I didn't realize that the way macros work had been changed. That has to be unintended, but if it isn't, yeesh, boxing just got a whole lot easier!
    I'd rather not weave chain lightning into the rotation, single target it's a clear dps loss. What i'm gonna do is having 1 castseqyence with fs, lb, lb .... tied up with lava burst in a click macro so, lvb goes off on every cooldown, and have chain lightning on a separate button, so i can decide myself when to cast it (against >1 target it's a dps gain).

    What I was thinking is that I would have 4 keys that I use, situationally -

    1: Single target tank ONLY - to start off/generate threat on bosses
    2: Single target Tank & DPS - once threat has been established, switch to this
    3: AOE tank ONLY - to begin generating AOE threat
    4: AOE tank & DPS - same as 2, but including Chain Lightning into the rotation, and possibly nova (though that might be a separate key, because for some fights they will be far away from nova range)

    I really *do* hope the changes in macro functionality were intentional, but just in case they aren't, I'm kind of mentally preparing myself to go from a pack of lava and lightning spewing space goat goddesses to... well, a pack of slightly less amazing lava and lightning space goats.

    Well although this is not alowed:

    /cast
    /cast

    But this is?

    /castsequence
    /click

    And this is?

    /castsequence
    /castrandom

    Well looks like I need to rewrite most everything.

    Looks very questionable if it is intended. Why even make two /cast in the same macro illegal if you are going to allow the other two?


    With the set FPS forground and background commands in the Video Section looks like Blizzard is for sure allowing multiboxing. Now if they would set up their texture loading to accont for multiple clients (if they don't which I kinda doubt it). I.E. if all clients need a particular texture they would all share just one of them.

    anyone working on a Blood DK tank rotation? EJ is pretty cryptic about it....
    I don't suffer from Schizophrenia, I enjoy every moment of it !
