Default Just curious... level up First Aid ?

Just curious if any of you have been leveling up your first aid.

I'm level 56 now with my team, and first aid is a big fat ZERO.

I can see that there might be circumstances that bandages would help, just never got around to doing it.

Anyways, all my cloth has been used to fund my 3x Mages' Tailoring, so I didn't have spare cloth for first aid.

With my first toon, I always had first aid going while leveling, but with my team, I have toons that can heal, so I haven't needed it.

For those of you who think leveling bandages isn't worth it because "I can heal myself" -- I wish I had bandages when I dealt with the MC boss in Slabs. I can't emphasize that enough -- I had to make a healing pot macro when the pot CD could have better been used on mana pots. I wish I had bandages those times in PvP when I was OOM thanks to using inefficient elemental healz. I wish I had bandages while fighting Ikiss so I could actually spend my mana DPSing after each AE (he goes straight after searing totems after the AE, mwahaha). I wish I had bandages because right after rezzing it saves my mana so I don't have to waste it drinking.

Seriously. If you have the cloth (which you will), level first aid. There's no good reason NOT to.

I can understand your plight from a shaman perspective. However, if you have a priest stacked with spirit, some MP5 and a decent mana pool then healing the whole group to full barely moves the mana bar. My DPS will run out of mana looooooong before my priest. Only my pally and priest drinks after wipes and usually only if I soulstone rez and rez the whole group and buff which takes a lot of mana. Bandages won't help with that however.

Situations I do see bandages being extremely useful for my group setup:
    Aggro sensitive fights
    Chain healing fights
Pally and priest down (especially in PvP)

I would still train first aid last on my priest and pally if I do train it. The Warlock could get some mileage out of it and will probably be trained first if I decide to do it.

Even healers and tanks would do well to level first aid.

Last boss in ZA during the tornado phase?

Granted, not a multiboxer-friendly fight, but in any case where silence/mana burn/shutdown come into play (even if it's against a rogue who decided to vanish and makes good use of his "kick" button) you might as well use bandages.

Well, it's a matter of priority, eh? Certainly there are times you'd want the money for other purposes, especially when the going rate is high. It's still worthy getting. I don't think I've ever single-boxed WoW, so I've never considered it necessary, but at times, it's useful, and it doesn't hurt. Typically, I keep first aid up to the tier of cloth lower than the one I'm currently starting to get, and then at the end, when I'm not doing anything else, I max it out. At the very least, it gives you something to do when your other characters are grinding professions at the forge.

Unlike most people, I choose not to blow 20 minute cooldowns in order to down a boss. I also like to stay away from using pots -- I'll typically only use them on my main (tanking paladin) in dire situations.

Not everyone is going to have an earth elemental or 4 or 5 at their disposal.

This is just general common sense, people. "Hai, I'm too lazy to use these ten billion stacks of linen/wool/mageweave/runecloth/netherweave I've been collecting in order to do a one-time leveling process of a very easy profession that may someday save my life. Ah, f*ck it, I'll just sell it on the AH for a couple gold."

I had that mentality and right now I regret not leveling it. That's my opinion. I believe it's useful in more than one situation, and you'll regain the costs from the cloth.

And fur, the rez moment I'm thinking of is when a group of 70's steamroll me out of the blue, and they're sitting there camping me. I can rez at half health, insta-gib one with 4 chain lightnings out of nowhere, and maybe kill the others... By the time that's done, I have just a couple secs to heal to full and rez any of my chars who have died (since they were at half health and totally unbuffed) and I'm oom by the time the enemy runs back to their bodies and rezzes again. That's time better spent using a bandage so that you're at 100% health once they return and you can b*tch slap them to oblivion again. Very useful.

Ok, before I go to ZA I will train bandaging

It is also very very very situational to have a rogue or someone else shutting down your healer but leaving your other characters in peace to bandage. I suppose in arenas it happens more frequently, especially in 2v2 where you finish off one of their players but your healer is being shut down but surviving and your non-healer is low. Bubble bandage could be handy.

I'll agree on arenas. Very useful for arenas.
