Default Locked framerate isnt check, let it still does

Whenever I use fraps to record videos, i always leave lock frame rate unchecked. However, even when I leave it unchecked it still will periodically lock the frame rate at 30 FPS during recording. It will only bounce back up once I finish recording and will stay at around 60 FPS after starting to record again until randomly locking at 30 FPS again. Whats the deal?

depends, what kind of harddisk do you got ? if you got a single one at 7200rpm or even 10.000rpm that would and your trying to fraps and play wow from it and have windows running on it, then its kinda the dead end, the fraps files are extreamly big and its a hard job for the harddisk... thats proberly the thing, it could also be the CPU

Most ppl use another disk to fraps on, even tho a single disk is still slow to fraps on, Raid0 with 2x 10.000RPM disk´s or higher is the best thing or ofcause an SSD

FRAPS records at the frame rate you tell it to, that's how it works. If you want to record at 30 FPS, you play at 30 FPS. I really have no idea what the lock frame rate option does and their FAQ doesn't seem to explain it. The only thing I may have noticed is by checking lock frame rate my FPS jumps around less while recording [but I could be completely out of my mind]. I've been using FRAPS for years and my OS, game folders, and FRAPS video directory are all on 3 separate hard drives.

I am trying to record my starcraft replays. I run starcraft from a single 10,000 rpm drive and I save my fraps recordings to a single 1TB 7200 RPM drive....
