Default Thinking of switching from KC to ISBoxer

...and I've watched the setup videos and looked over all the info I could find on their site. Still a couple questions though.

It looks like I only have to buy one copy for 2 computers? The $36 a year?

How will my current FTL macros coincide with ISBoxer, or will I have to start from scratch?

Does Inner Space replace what I'm currently using, which is Input Director?

The main reason I'm thinking of switching is when leveling my mage team I need an easy way to do targeted AoEs (Blizzard, and with Cata stuff like Earthquake and the like).

You can use 1 sub for ISboxer on upp to five computers

You dont need FTL macros with ISboxer

no, Innerspace is the platform you run ISboxer on(as far as i know, i dont use it for anything else hah)

the mouse repeating is fairly simple, tho ive never had good luck doing this with KC or ISboxer. you can search the forums here there are some threads on the subject

ISBoxer doesn't "replace" Input Director, per se. Actually, most people who use multiple computers will prefer to use both, together. Inner Space and ISBoxer deal only with (and will only broadcast to) game windows. Input Director gives you full keyboard and mouse control on the second PC.

As far as your FTL macros, like ZooljinX mentioned you don't need any custom FTL. ISBoxer builds it for you such that it will work with your existing WoW action bars (etc). The idea is that you shouldn't need any custom macros in the game specifically for multiboxing, it should be the same as single boxing.

And targeted AOEs will be a breeze, ISBoxer provides a built-in example of a ground targeted AOE hotkey (as of ISBoxer 37, so Ualaa's guide is technically outdated but still a very good and in-depth guide)

Ok, one more question...I notice you have setups for multiple toons. What happens if I go from, say, Siaea (shaman 'main') to Parting (priest/warlocks main)? Do I need to log out of the game and restart with ISBoxer or does it kind of switch macros on the fly? Or when I switch whole teams even (which I do often, say for dailies and transmutes) do I log completely out of the game, or how does that work?

i have not boxed in 6 months and might not be 100% correct.

I believe you have to log off and then load the profile of the character set you want and log back in.
The only hard part is the time it takes to log back in if you have a authenticator, that's about it.

A trick I do is this, turn OFF mouse/keyboard brodcasting, log out the toon(s) you wish to replace and log back in with another toon(s). Do your transmutes and other professions, send mail, auction, etc, then log off that toon(s) and log back onto the other toons and turn on mouse/keyboard broadcasting. this is how I send mail between my characters, check auctions , etc, without reloading anything.

however if you want to switch a whole group, do the same as above by logging off and switching to desired toons, open isboxer, find the character set you wish to use, right-click it (i believe) and export to innerspace. this should load the profile for those characters you switched to without logging off/in through wow. turn keyboard broadcasting back on and reload wow interface with /console reloadui

this is how I do it since I use seperate character sets for my groups, instead of 1 gigantic file. Maybe someone has a easier way to do it.

You only have to logout to the character selection screen to load your new team and everything works just fine granted your character "slots" match up. No need to be exiting the game and dicking around with authenticator codes.
