Angry Having trouble deciding on a Cataclysm Tank?

So for Cata I intend to continue on and play my Shaman team. I've been playing them as 1x Resto 3x Elemental for awhile with a toggle key that lets the Resto DPS where I want some more burst. I've also played a Paladin Tank as my main the entire of WOTLK.

However having been on the PTR I really do not like Holy Power. I've done quite a few instances and felt I've given it a good go - at least at Level 80. Some numbers could use some tweaking but the thing that is irritating me the most is just the idea of another resource and the fact I have so much downtime with nothing to push.

I'm quite shattered about it, I have a 310% Frost Wyrm from ICC 10 and a Spectral Tiger on my Paladin. I have alot of reputations and achievements, but nothing I couldn't do again with alot of owrk.

I also have an 80 DK and a 80 Druid on my account both who would need a huge amount of work to become my main tank entering into Cataclysm but with the badge changes for a month or so before Cata hits I don't see this as a big deal. I'd need to put JC on either/both of them and they all have mining so this meets my profession requirements as JC will get a soft reset anyway with recipes due to a new xpac.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what the 'new' multiboxing tank of choice is going to be in Cata and why? Is anyone else thinking about changing tanks in their groups and why?

I like a druid tank, because you are free to also go Boomkin or Resto with the same toon. So you can take the same group of toons and do both PvE and PvP.

If your sole interest for the team is PvE, then I'd think any of the tanking classes would work, and it would be your personal preference more then anything else that decides the issue.

I've been working up a few Druid tanks myself. I already have the pally tank, and Warrior tank, and I just can't get into the DK's at all. Granted I've only taken my Dk's to 65 or so, but I just can't seem to find the proper feel for them yet.

I think the Druid tank will be fun, as I have the least experience with them.

Right now on Beta and PTR people are saying DKs are best tanks for a number of reasons. They hold threat better in both AE and single target situations. They have a lot of self heal type talents and abilities and healers love them for it. Druids and DKs both take damage better than warriors or palies. But Bliz has said that the block mechanics are still not right.

Safe bet for "best" tank is DK at this moment, BUT I would have to think that by the time Cata goes live, all 4 tanks will be close to equal, that is the goal anyway. I have druid/pal and DK at 80 and have no desire to level a warrior. I do hope that they get palies up to par though, just like the OP, I love my paly, it will be sad to leave him on the shelf 8(
