    Default Things changing with 4.0.1

I don't know if there's allready a list of general things that are good to know. If so, please merge then. Figured it'd be helpfull to summ it all up. Feel free to add things that are usefull to know.

    - Buy Heirloom before 4.0.1 hits. The conversion on Emblems of Triumph into Justice Points is 1:2.74. So, 40 Emblems of Triumph = 110 Justice Points. Basic chest and shoulders however are 435 Justice Points. Same probably goes for WG items.

    - Armor pen is removed. People will want new gems. Take note.

    - Glyphs.Soon glyphs are going to be one time use items which teach you a spell in your spell book. This new ‘spell’ will then be turned on or off based on which glyphs you’d like to have at any given time
These glyphs will turn into charred glyphs, which will be useless and sell for 50s each to a vendor:
    Glyph of Arcane Explosion (MAGE)
    Glyph of Barbaric Insults (WARRIOR)
    Glyph of Dark Command (DK)
    Glyph of Disease (DK)
    Glyph of Fire Blast (MAGE)
    Glyph of Fire Ward (MAGE)
    Glyph of Icebound Fortitude (DK)
    Glyph of Last Stand (WARRIOR)
    Glyph of Mana Gem (MAGE)
    Glyph of Possessed Strength (HUNTER)
    Glyph of Rapid Rejuvenation (DRUID)
    Glyph of Scorch (MAGE)
    Glyph of Siphon Life (WARLOCK)
    Glyph of Survival Instincts (DRUID)
    Glyph of Taunt (WARRIOR)
    Glyph of Unholy Blight (DK
    Glyph of Volley (HUNTER)

    - Ammo has been removed from the game.

Yeah, and the transmute cooldown has been removed on raw gems. Buying all the cheap scarlet ruby, aut., blue (forgot name) I can find for some time now. I figure the gem market is going to resurrect for a week or 2 after 4.0.1 hits live.

5000ish emblems of triumph = full "heroic" 348 blues. Which using garfrost would equal about 10,000 minuets or 150ish hours worth of farming to have our teams ready to go with full pre-raid quality gear Since the vendors SUPPOSEDLY have been added and such.

Since we still have about two months before the expansion comes out... that would be approximately 3 hours of garfrost per day to get it all set =P Not sure i'm willing to put that much effort in but still.

You keep surprising me mate. Even *considering* this garfrost idea is scary. What would help however in this is adding a/ how many hours it will take with the new dungeons in cata (both solo & boxing)b/ how much you lose out by not converting your emblems into gems and cut them c/ how long it would take with farming hc's the normal way in wotlk.

a/ solo = no clue, but i guess that can be done within 150 hours - box = probably longer than solo x5
    b/ 5000 emblems = 250 cardinal ruby = 25k cutted + on my realm ... x5 = 125k
    c/ through randoms at 3-3.5-4 an hour = 20 badges and hour = 250 hours /60 = 4 hours farming per day

the normal way is 4 hours as opposed to the garfrost run is 3 hours a day. Guess the normal way is gonna net you way more gold and going to cover up for the 125k opportunity cost you lost for not selling your emblems as cut gems.

Plus with doing 4 hours hc's a day it seems to be less likely you end up completely mental, over the garfrost trick.

Still the garfrost idea might be a good business idea for those gold & power leveling companies to offer. Patent the idea and get rich sleeping !

    How would this work, exactly?

    A - There's a 4,000 point cap going into Cataclysm
    B - You can't buy lvl 85 gear until lvl 85
C - Items are costing about 1650 -2500 on beta

So, yes, you can store up 4,000 points and get 1 or 2 pieces at 85 - but hardly a full set.

Does that mean I just wasted a sh#t ton of gold and time leveling 10 alchemists? Or will the new epic gems have a cooldown?

Only current transmutes have been removed so far. I expect the cooldowns will come back in cata since it ùales sense to limit that market. Now I assume they've done it cause when 4.0.1 hits with all new talents & stats, players are going to regem to try out the stuff. Having prices 170g+ again for gems would be a bit unbalanced towards other professions.

I would think for anyone wanting to start Heroics in the expansion a much better way to gear the team would be using crafted gear. In WotLK there were full sets of crafted blues available on release. Farming a ton of Justice points does not make sense if you can farm mats and make a set of blue gear from it.

They are currently on beta, but theres "rumors" of the vendors going in to 4.0.1 to give people SOMETHING to do other than screw around with talents and do the pre-cata lore stuff. If you can then your points are moot. Yes there is a cap of 4,000. There is no proof anywhere you need to actually be 85 to buy from the vendor itself from what I've seen. It's isn't gauranteed that the vendor is going to actually be put in... but if it IS then people can do what I said. If not then obviously you can only get to the cap.

For the end of wrath? Yes. In cata though all high level professions are apparently going to need an item that alchemists make on a one day cooldown.
