somehow this reminds me of a (somewhat unrelated) story that had made the papers back in the day.
We're talking 20+ years back, when mobile phones were *VERY* rare, and the size of a brick (and the weight of one as well)
There's this guy on the train, who keeps talking very loudly in his, seemingly calling his whole list of friends for a couple hours, annoying the hell out of the rest of the people in the train, since he's obviouly very loud, and pretty much bragging about having a phone conversation in the train all the time.
Turns out a lady in that train compartment is very pregnant, and about to pop. Who knows if it was the heap, the bumps, or just how it was meant to be, but at some point she faints and things aren't looking too good for the missus and her bub.
People then ask the look-at-me-phone guy to give a quick call to the next village they will stop at, so that they can prepare an ambulance.
The guy first refuses, then gets angry, and finally bursts into tears explaining that his phone is in fact a fake and that he's been pretending for the last x hours.
I would have loved to see the reaction of the wound up train.
it's probably a made up story, but it came back to me following this conversation, so i thought i'd share :-)
adding the word "lost" works as well
it it before when i "lost" a clone.
