Default Anyone know leveling guides for 5 boxers.

Does anyone know of a leveling guide I can use for boxing.

    I know the standard...

    1-10 Quest
    10-20 DM
20-27 Stockades (I stay this long so I can use DF for Scarlet, otherwise its a LONG walk for alliance)
    27-45 Scarlet
    45-55 Stratholme
    55-60 Ramparts,

But I'm looking at making this more efficient. For example, all of the guides only say do this and pick up instance quests. Well, I haven't a clue where the isntance quests are or how to get them? Some of them like the Deadmins quests are on a long chain and its not so easy to get the starter quest (if I recall correctly..).

So does anyone know a more practical guide?
At the moment, I am level 38 and I get 50% per run through SM Cath which takes me about 22 minutes. I think think this is hideously slow. If I record a video would someone mind looking over it? To see how I could make it more efficient. I think the problem is that I am flat broke so I loot everything. I am boosting on a level 80 mage, but I only have 100G on that level 80 so all of the Silk Cloth and Greens are a must to be able to upgrade my skills.

In SM Cath I park my guys at the bottom of the waterfall fountain. So I effectively have to move them twice. Looting is a pain, because It takes forever to loot? Is there anything which makes this quicker? I have installed XLoot but I don't know what it does. I find myself spamming click on the corpses and then mashing "J" which is my bind for Interact with Target. I think this is the best I can do right?

Finally, what should I do for leveling after 60?

Everyone has a different "standard," but that is essentially it.

If you're using RAF and instance boosting don't even bother with instance quests. Any chain of quests that you do is going to lower your XP/hour. The only instance quests I would pickup while instance boosting would be the Zul'farrak quests that are right in Gadgetzan and Gahz'rilla in Shimmering Flats, or the few BRD quests that are at Morgan's Vigil or if there are some BRD quests at the Horde flight path I don't remember [both locations in Burning Steppes]. Either way the time you're taking to travel to go get quests and do pre-req quest lines are just going to diminish your XP/hour.

Holy shit man, 22 minutes with an 80 Mage? I think it is time to re-evaluate the boosting situation. Just putting "Scarlet Monastery Cathedral boost" into YouTube yields more than sufficient results. You can pull Cathedral in about a pull or two depending on your skill level with that Mage, then you can loot all the dead bodies as they lie at your feet.

XLoot is an addon that changes the loot frame and adds in options for like linking and keeping track of raid loot, etc. Oh, it also changes the loot frame for you.

Boosting with an 80 Mage in Scholo/Strat and above might start getting rough if you're looking for speed. People normally boost with a tank class of some sort. You may have to go the route of questing once you hit Hellfire.

Don't feel discouraged man, everyone is new to this at one time or another, that's what this forum is here for. Shit, come Cataclysm, we're all going to be "new" at this again with the Azeroth revamp. Anyway, this was a very quick response before I walked out the door to class, I might need to add something later.

This mentions how to set looting so you only pickup greens or better.

If you loot every body it's going to take awhile.

I found SM from 35-45 rather slow and painful, plan to try ZF on my next group I'm levelling.

I just started a 4 mage team to catch up to my decently geared 80 mage, and I"m in cath at the moment, the lowbies are 25 now. It takes me 4 to 5 minutes to do a cath run, and that includes an evocation at the door to the cathedral. 22 minutes very slow, even for a crappily geared 80. Park your guys at the entrance, pull the entire courtyard (spamming arcane exp and ice lance, usually) and AoE all the courtyard down, move your guys to the door of the cathedral, drop your mirror image and elemental right in the middle of the room, ice lance Mograine, and AoE the entire chapel. Sleep, kill Whitemane and Mograine, rinse, repeat. 10 minutes tops if you have to eat/drink.

I have watched a few videos and I can see that I am doing it completely wrong. I do it in four stages.

    Here is my Cath tactics.

    1. I enter the instance and set my four slaves to follow.
    2. I run down the entrance corridor and pull the five guys (half way down the corridor I stop following the slaves). I don't kill any until the entrance to the main courtyard where I spam AoE. Then I loot the five guys. I click and spam IWT.
    3. I leave my slaves in the main corridor (about half way) then I run out in to the first lower court yard and I pull mobs by running through them hitting them with the staff. This pull takes about 1 minute. Then I run back through the entrance with all the mobs and I line of sight the mages. I take a beating for about 4 seconds til I know that I can safely Frost Nova. Once the frost nova lands I step back and Flame AoE them. I want to keep them all together so its easy to loot.

The looting process takes about 2-3minutes, since it just takes forever. I still don't know an efficient way to loot? Am I doing it correct? I click and spam IWT. Anyway, after killing the lower guys in the first courtyard I move onto the next stage.

    4. I run my slaves to the bottom of the waterfall.

    5. I run my Mage to the upper courtyard and then pull them all. This is a pain and takes some time to get them all cause I can't line of sight the mages effectively and keep them a safe disatance from my slaves. After Killing them all I would open the doors.

    6. From here I would cast Invisibility and run up to the alter, then I would drop Invisibility and cast pyroblast on the boss followed by insta-cast of flame strike AoE on top of me. After I take a beat for a few seconds, I Frost Nova, followed by more AoE.

    7. I kill the final two bosses after the ress.

    8. I loot for about 2 minutes. Ughhh.

    ========

So after watching videos, I see that I fail epicly with my tactics. Ha.
Maybe I shouldn't loot? Its just I started off with nothing, and I needed gold to buy a guild bank. So every little helped.

Also, I went to the AH on Sat/Sunday and saw that Silk Cloth was selling for 17G. I added 200 silk cloths on there and made a killing. The day after I went back after selling all my silk cloth and having about 50 stacks and I see now that they are selling for 1.4G. So I bought them all up. (about 15 stacks).

I am hoping that the prices return back to 17G this weekend again so I can lump on a full guild tab of silk clothes. Mageweave was also 28G a stack.

Thanks for your input so far.

    tips:

For instance quests, type in the name of the dungeon in wowhead.com and see the "quests" tab. That shows all the dungeon related quests. Comments are very usefull. (esp green/blue ones)

Boosting in SM cath: leave the slaves at the entrance, don't move them an inch. pull all outside cath -> kill. loot. Pull Mograine and run out of the cathedral.(aslong as you kill a mob outside the cath doors the slaves at the entrance get exp.) You can use the fountain outside the cathedral to kite mobs up and down if needed to buy time to evocate if your hp is dropping. Loot.

Since you should clear it faster then 5 times an hour, you get "you've entered to many instances recently" and you have to wait. To counter that also do Armory. Pull everything till the first stairs. Park the slaves near those stairs. Then if you can, pull the whole instance exept for the final boss.(because you have to open to door, you'd have to kill everything first, annoying, time consuming, not worth it.) Then run back till you see your slaves on the minimap and kill everything. loot.

enable auto loot in blizz options and spamclick is how i loot. Allthough i hardly loot. Only when i get boosted.

You can pull SM cath in 2 pulls even with the diminishing returns on how much an aoe hits each target for.

Enter cath and kill the first guy by the door. (he eill attack anything under level 30) then park your guys right where you killed that guy.

The just run (avoiding aggroing anything) all the way to the top level. start runing around the outside edge aggroing everything, even the guards by the door. when you have them all go to the waterfall and jump off. This will give you time to start aggroing everything on the bottom area. DO NOT TAKE THE STAIRS. If you run down the stairs you will be taking hits all the way back to your group.

once you have the bottom chasing you the top will be there too, just run into the hallway back twards your team. stop where the first 2 guards are by your team and aoe or start killing them. I always run up into a window slot so the casters will run to me too.

then put slaves on follow and go to the door. keep slaves by the fountain. run all the way in to the boss and kill him. you will get put to sleep. After you wake up run out of the building to where your slaves are. make sure both bosses come out of the building. If you got both bosses out, the entire instance will be aggroed to you. rinse and repeat aggro or killing. make sure you go back in and kill the guy thats hidden behind the wall on the right. He gives slaves some pretty good xp.

go out and reset. even with looting i rarley hit the 5 instance cap. I run my 80 Spriest for my boosting to.

I've found an even more efficient way than that now. You don't tag anything until you are inside the Cathedral. I run in with Invisibility and then hit Mograne with Living Bomb. Run out spamming AOE. Then when I hit the steps I turn and cold snap, then run a bit more and flamestrike.

I wait for the the other boss to ress and make sure I cast evocation. I then wait for everything to come after me and I jump down the water fall. I wait about 4 seconds and start to cast flamestrike directly on top of myself. After the flamestrike lands I cast mirror image which gives me enough time to get a frost nova off and a flamestrike.

I've got this tactic down pretty good now. I used to finish on about 1k health, but now I finish on 8k. The mirror image is a real save, because it allows you to nova and get a flamestrike off, which kills pretty much anything.

Haven't tried it with a mage, but an 80 paladin can pull the whole joint at once. Leave party at the entrance, only pull the boss at first. Then I run out to one side on the top level, go about 3/4 of the way down the "corridor", then jump off into the bushes. That way, they will run to the end and it will buy you some time to run to the other side and repeat. Then before you go to the lower level, run to the waterfall making sure most of them are close to you. Jump, bandage/heal while they run the long way around, then grab whatever you can on the lower level. I usually have them follow me into the 1st hallway so my team can heal or help out with aoe to speed things up.

I didn't come up with this myself, just got the idea watching youtube and reading forums.

I think a frost mage has some tools to slow mobs down so that might help. Oh, and I do use speed enchants on my boots, does help a little.

And running cath+armory is the way to get around the instance/hr limit. Though after say level 36 or so, armory gives low xp. Around 38-39, same for cath.

    I did Cathedral this way:

Go to Mograine and kill him (avoid aggroing anything on the way)
Jump behind the altar and hurt Whiteman as she steps outside until she put you into sleep
As soon as sleep wears off run to instance entrance
Mograine and all mobs of the instance will follow you and the first floor offers a good possibiliy of LoS breaking
