Default Dungeon finder is just too good

I started an alliance team on Cho'gall last December and came back to them a few months ago. Currently at L62, this team has run more dungeons (some just for achievements) at this point than any other team of mine. I just love parking by the repair vendor in SW and porting back and forth, safe and sound.

I have to rate the LFD as the best change ever for the time savings alone. Thinking back and comparing how instances used to be, it is amazing. Remember having to run to the summoning stones? Clearing all the elites just to get to the instance portal? God forbid if you forgot something or your bags were full. How about the hunter that was out of arrows/bullets or the other classes running out of reagents? All that trouble and nothing dropped for your class.

What do you think? Is LFD the most OP thing every added to WOW or is it just "overrated"?

I like it because it is easy. I hate it because it eliminates world pvp.
Remember daily heroic quests? Great spot to go park for some world pvp action.
I also dislike it because people really never have to play with people from their server. You can be a complete fuckwad and still have no problems finding groups with the dungeon finder. As a multi-boxer who really cares I am my own group every once in awhile a shaman gets lippy and I have to put them on ignore, but for a single boxing person I can only imagine the degree of fucktards lurking the LFD system.

You could even park your toons in a Sanctuary like Shattrath, to be immune to PvP if you wanted to avoid it.

The LFD tool is great, except that our compositions need to include a toon who could tank and another who could heal. Still a lot of flexibility in group make up.

Sorry for bumping an old thread. But I only realized this when I hit level 15 with my group. All excited I signed up, and the role check failed. So I had to restart one of my characters as another class.

The option is there to actually walk to the cave, but for people like me not only new to multiboxing but to the game to some extent, sacrificing your personal class choices for Dungeon Finder tool is a compromise worth going for imho. It has nothing to do with lazyness, but a greater enjoyment of the game.

Many appologies Whur... I need to use you as an example.

I do not like the LFG / LFD finder. Its a terrible idea. How lazy does a person need to be, to not go from the closest major city, to a stone. 2 mins flight time? 3? And when some people dont get in, when they want to, they just select all their class options, despite the talent points, skill, experience, and gear. Then you get a fail tank, in full PVP gear, classes wearing cloth, when they should wear leather, or mail when they should wear plate, or a Priest with all crit and hit, not much intel., and in shadowform... healing... or a druid in balance gear, that goes bear form... "what? Im a tank. Blizzard says so."

It used to be that people would go to a stone, summon people there, or all meet. It used to be that the scrubs that didnt know how to play their class, let alone gear it up right, simply didnt get in groups.

Blizzard made the LFD finder for these people. "Dont know if youre a tank? Click here" "Dont have the right gear for your class, but want to do dungeons? Click here" "Too lazy to explore this vast wold we spent 6 years creating? Click here" "Have no clue where you are going, just want to pew pew? Click here"

Nope. LFD is an absolute failure. I refuse to use it, and I havent since several weeks of it coming out.

I do conceed that if you 5box, this is a quick way to zone to an instance. However, if you are boosting, you are often running to that instance anyway.

No no. Please dont take the overall negative tone / opinion about the subject wrong. I do agree about boxing. I do use it from time to time.

I guess I could have clarified that for non boxers... all the above.

Thats ok. I take no offense whatsoever, the sole reason I am multi boxing is so I can have time to explore every inch of the continents and normal dungeons and follow the lore as I love the books. Not to run through and pew pew, or to farm something.

I actually decided to go back to my original class line up, so I will be walking to every instance no matter what. Well later on hopefully flying.

Although, if I had the right class line up for my 5 boxing, I would use the LFD tool in a heartbeat, don't misunderstand.

[EDIT]: I do not have any high level alts for boosting or power leveling etc, I started from scratch with my newbie line up.

I like the convenience, especially when i have limited time.

I hate what it has done to pvp. I wish you had to fully complete the dungeon at least once before you could get to it via LFD. At least make people find the entrance. People just starting after lfd probably have no clue where e instance even is in azeroth. Id hate to heal for lfd groups.

Good thing i dont have to!!!

Am I the only one who plays on a PvE server?

And yes, the Dungeon Finder is an amazing tool for everyone, especially Boxers!
