    Default Cata Professions

I'm looking to add professions to a new team or two and I was looking for suggestions. I'm pretty set on Engineering for each of'em but I'm not sure about the second. Are the perks homogenized enough so that I should just pick the cheapest second one to level? Or should I trust in the tried-and-true JC as the secondary?

    Any feedback much appreciated!

no idea what they are adding in engineering because I cant find shit for info on sprockets or whatever. But honestly to me Alchemy and JC is just awesome. Thats whats on my team (all 10 alchemy 2 JCs) makes a huge difference. I'm just not really sold on the other profs because while they all get benefits alchemy and JC seems to trump it if even by a inch.

What's the difference with alchemy right now?

I know that Engineers basically get their own gem slots that they can put cogs in. That plus all the toys will be worth it I think.

    I'd recommend Alchemy plus whatever.

The daily transmutes, are free gold.

Still, you don't necessarily need every team to be part of the transmute empire, but 4-5 additional toons is more gold too.

I'm more interested in the stats perks

Alchemy does seem pretty cheap to level compared to JC though. That's a bonus.

Engineering will have its own version of 'gems' that can go in certian items I think. They are called cogs or something. They are basically the equivilent of the boosted gems JC's got. The ones I saw focused around something and mastery.

It was on MMO-Champion awhile back. Sorry I dont have a link.

I've always been a big fan of having every profession I can in a team. My 'main' team has everything except for Herbalism on it. I do cooking/fishing on the tank and will probably put arch. on him too.

I think Blacksmithing/JC has been the 'Wrath' combo - Scribe/Enchanting is not bad for shoulders/rings.

You can fit everything you need to go 1-450 Alchemy in like a couple of 20 slot bags so in terms of doing it en-mass its fairly simple.

What better reason to choose Alchemy than to be able to transform into a dragon!

I already have two alchemists, both maxed out. All my lvl 80 alts that still don't have at least one main profession I'm powerleveling them on Alchemy.

Main reason if not solely is:
"New unique material used by nearly all high-level recipes will be created by alchemists on a one-day cooldown."

Between azeroth fly, high speed flying and getting the new level on professions, we'll need something around 5k per toon on Cataclysm very start. That's a lot of money (well for people like me that hates the whole AH deal... I always just have enough money for my goals ).

I just saw that 10 minutes ago Fenril and came immediately here to post that my mind is made and they're all going to be Alchemists and Engineers. It's a done deal.

TRANSFORM. Like Druid form. Which is ridiculous. It means you can herb/mine etc without going back and forth.

    AND IT LOOKS AWESOME!

My shams are going to be engineering/alchemy
The main shaman will stay eng/ench
and one of the other shamans will stay JC/alch
    Pally will stay BS/mining.

My 2nd and 3rd set of teams if I ever get around to leveling their professions I'll basically do everyone alchemy + 1 profession i don't already have otherwise they'll just be 1 profession characters ><
