Default A Tale or Three Servers

Hi everyone. After stumbling upon bradster.net and getting hooked on dual-boxing, I have made teams on three different servers and wanted to share the reception I have received on them.

My first was Arthas with 4 Locks and 1 Priest. We quickly leveled to 20 and I had no negative feedback at all. I had several ask about us, and several who know what we were doing, ask for more details. Unfortunetly, Arthas had 30 minute log in ques and sometimes worse so we took advantage of the free transfer to Jadenar. This was a mistake for the most part. First week was very bad. If I got near a city, I would get constant accusations of botting, gold spammers (? did not get this one) and many others. Since then...it has got slightly better. When ever I go to Org, I will ALWAYS get the 'bot' attacks coment from 2-3, but of late, many have shouted them down. I have got a mini fan club going it seems. So, it is getting better.

Finally, last night I decided to start 5 shammies on the 'dual boxing server' of Magtheridan. As soon as we grouped, it was awful. Three in town began a tyraid of BOT/Spammer/Hacker insults, then as we went to kill our first mobs, a L26 shammy (What was a L26 even doing there??) came and started sending entire paragraphs of the EULA and saying I was being FRAPPED. I gave him the usual websites he could check and assured him it was legal...but...then he began to follow me and kill all mobs. When ever my team stopped running, he would put a totum down to kill nearby mobs. We logged off.

So...just a taste of what people planning this can expect. I love dual boxing and see that over time, the support and shout downs of the 'bots' comments are making it better. And it seems that some servers are better then others. I am thinking of going back to Arthas and just dealing with the ques. Seem to have the best reception there.

Well, unfortunately I think this talk comes from all servers. I've got a lot of friends on different servers, so I've created various sets of 5-man teams on Magtheridon, Laughing Skull, Kalecgos, Archimonde, Blood Furnace, and Medivh. On all 6, I've gotten the 'hacker/bot/cheater' comment more than once in the first few levels. I'm simply nice and say there's no external program, Bliz has no problem with one person playing multiple accounts at a time, then refer them to this site for further info. Just don't get defensive about it and you'll be alright. Most of the negative comments are probably from those just envious that their mommy and daddy won't pay for them to have extra accounts..
    Ex-WoW 5-boxer.
    Currently playing:
    Akama [Empire of Orlando]
    Zandantilus - 85 Shaman, Teebow - 85 Paladin, Kodex - 85 Rogue.

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.

All you got to do is tell them to stop with the verbal harassment. If they keep doing it report them then ignore them. This is something your going to have to deal with. Nothing you can really do.

I get more people generally interested in what im doing, if you chat a little bit they understand what your doing. However im starting to get to the point where im sick of explaining it to people. So in my /invite script i made the first line /dnd blahblah so i dont have to reply to whispers as much.

How to make people like you, even if they're complete twats vol. 1

    - /dance in front the AH in Orgrimmar (if your toons are hordies) or Stormwind/Ironforge (if your toons are alliance schmuc... I mean allies)
    - Start a scitzofrenic conversation. It could be as simple as a "hi!" "hi!" "where you from?"-kind of thing, up to "OMG! U JUST WHIPED US! I'm not going anywhere 'till that nob is kicked"-kind of thing. Trust me, people turn their heads and they laugh as they see 3-5 identical toons arguing.
    - If a person continiously walks by you when you're grinding and starts giving you a hard time, either do things either the easy way, by making a macro that explains your doings and spam it every now and then, the fun way, by /rofl-spamming him untill he gets it, the freaky way, by explaining it to him trough all five toons at once or lastly, the sneaky way, just logg off and await the GM-whisper when you logg back on.
    - If possible, have a friend, prefferably a few, of yourself stand next to you and defend you for a while. A few more individuals can make all the difference in the world.
    - Cherish those who know what you're doing (most people seem to get this one already) and keep them close. As mentioned in the paragraph above, the more you've got on your side defending your case, the easier it gets and the funnier it is to see them twats get bashed on the head for being ignorant.
    - Use your imagination. Throw a party, farm SM for fireworks and spam them in a city. The bigger the fuzz, the better.

Of course, you might just wanna stay low and hide untill you reach 70 and wack the nubs yourself in a BG/the Arenas. If you want people to like you, throw a show. If you want to remain in the shadows, keep your distance and, if you can be bothered, travel to cities one character at a time (which kinda kills part of the point of multiboxing, but, ya know, if you want people to stay REAL quiet about it).

    Upcomming books:
    - How to skin an Orc(C)
    - How to skin a Tauren(C)
    - How to get bloodelves to like you - they may seem scary, but they're loving and caring on the inside ...I think(C)
    - Wilbur - an epic story about a very lost boy(No copyrights gained as Wilbur himself insisted on keeping his name)

What the hell? Whilst obviously the book will be epic, I fail to see how I'm 'very lost' :-(

If its a lowbie with a higher proximity agro than you I walk close to mobs without agro and then the lowbie char gets agro and has a tough time with it whilst u just run on and do whatever

Usually I don't mind answering "omfg wtf" questions... last night was different though. Started a completely new group (five hunters) and was bombarded in the noob area with questions. I figure explaining to each person takes on the order of 5 to 10 minutes.... times that by two or three times an hour and you cut seriously into your play time.

I have to remember to make some global macros for explanations.

It reminds me funny story. I was questing in peninsula with my 4 box and some "omg wtf" guy started to steal my kills. Basically attack with faster casting spell and waiting untill my bolts come and smash the target. Ok, he got 2 kills. Third time I started casting the bolts and then stopped the attack. Guess what? The guy died Later on he ressed and started to do the same and once more I stopped my spellcasting, he got that mob running towards him and somehow managed to aggro 2 more and died. "Res me... plz..." - I laughed at him
