Default Badges - Buy Gems or Save for conversion?

I have a few hundred badges from heroics on my 5 toons. Would you buy gems and sell for gold or just wait until they convert to the new points? My toons have about 5k gold each so I am not rich like most of the boxers here.

If you are able to sell the 10 emblem gems for more than 55g each, then it's worth selling as gems now.

Sell and cut, but only buy the off-color gems, not he pure color gems. Use honor for htose. Stonekeeper shards, WG quests and shit should get you those kind of cuts.

Justice points are not being wiped come cataclysm, you are allowed to keep the cap to invest into your first tier of items for the first raid content.

I'm guessing Shodokan has hit the cap, and coverting it to gold is somewhat pointless for him compared to getting 1 bit of gear since he has HEAPS of gold. Where 99% of other people it would be better to convert badges to gold if they don't have as much of it as they would like.

Either way if I had heaps of gold and heaps of badges I would probably be keeping them till closer, whats a bit more gold when you already have more than you can use anyway compared to an item you can only get from justice points?

Not to mention that 1 or more bits of gear will help one to be that much closer to being able to box the new Heroics etc etc.

I think the concern here Shodokan, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that what would normaly cost us say 60 Frost emblems, will now cost us like 250 Justice points.

Or say 50 Triumphs, will now be 250 justice points. (I know the numbers are not right, but close enough to get the idea across.) so on a 1 to 1 ratio, even though it would be less that you would have to farm like you said, It might be better off to grab the money and run.

At least until Crafted gear comes down.

I firmly believe that Farmers (mine, skin,Herbs) for the first few weeks will make a killing. Low mats, high mats, etc.

The reason being, is that new toons aka worgen and goblins, will want to power level their professions. Higher toons will want to get their Crafting up as fast as possible.

Myself, I plan on Farming as fast as I can, as much as I can, before I even start the leveling process that much. get enough for my crafters and also sell as much as I can.

Just my opinion though, I could be wrong on this all together.

once you reach the cap didnt they say that the overflow would automatically be converted to gold anyway?

I'm going to convert everything to gold before hand. i'm not in a hurry to gear up, and it will take me alot of time to level anyway.
Gold has always been somewhat reliable: 1000 triumphs will give you 5500g, who knows what 1000 JP (or whatever the conversion is) will give you

The advantage of gold is that it's sharable as well, so if you have limited resources, then you can get gold from your 5 toons' badges and gear up your tank in more BoE/Crafted, instead of having a few JP spread on 5 toons.

One of the guys in my guild posted this..

Armor Vellum, Weapon Vellum, Ranks of them are all now just Enchanting Vellum.

    Frost and Gear.
    Key to my table,
    1st column is name.
2nd column is how many frost it currently costs.
3rd column is how many Justice Points to buy it on PTR.
4th column is the equivalent amount of Frost you need before patch to buy item.
    5th column is wasted emblems.

Item Name Frost Justice Points -> Frost From Conversion
    Corroded Skeleton Key 60 694 278
    Primordial Saronite 23 266 107

All gear has its priced multiplied by 11.6, meaning your frost is worth 4.6 times more before patch.

Also, can't tell how many Justice Points you get from Dungeons yet, its too buggy.

Now that is interesting. But yeah, I just decided to try a Druid, but the client is still too unstable for me to get into a dungeon to see.
