Default 10 boxing with 5 Shamans doable?

I am building up a 10box team and am thinking of using 5 shamans in it:

    Tank1: Prot Paladin
    Tank2: Prot Paladin
    Heal1: Resto Shaman
    Heal2: Resto Shaman
    DPS1: Shadow Priest
    DPS2: Frost Mage
    DPS3: Destro Lock
    DPS4: Ele Shaman
    DPS5: Ele Shaman
    DPS6: Ele Shaman

I don't like micro-managing toons, so I would prefer less active attention over more power, unless the set up prevents me from getting certain content done.

Pala Tanks1-2 are great, I tried DKs as well, needs much more attention.

I love Heal2-3 Resto Shamans, spamming chain heal is just carefree group healing and earth shield+riptide is automated tank healing. Add healing stream totem and I basically don't need to think about heals in my 5box. My priest seems to need more active attention to healing.

DPS1-3 should get most raid buffs, right?

    DPS4-5 should do ok DPS

Am I missing something? Is this doable or requires the ICC10 content a different set up? Any reason from cata not to do that?

Would even a 10box with 8 shamans and 2 paladins have a chance? That idea I really find attractive

I`d say it will work great. Even 2 paladins and 8 shamans. For cata... not sure, I think you`ll be missing out on a LOT dispelling then.

I was thinking of 10boxing using 5 shamans myself but then with a dk tank, pala tank, mage, holy pala and one more. So 2resto shamans and a holy paladin to pump tank heals. Tbh 2x ES is just to good imo.
Anyway for WOTLK content you`ll be set with that setup. Good thing is that you can offspec melee on shamans if you happen to need it.

It's probably me, but a shadow priest rotation seems to take some more attention than a shaman, def. if you want to do decent dps with them. The hit buff can also be provided with a moonkin.

Maybe you want to swap out a resto shaman for a disc priest, and go with a boomkin. He also provides gift of the wild, rebirth, can be off specced tank, melee or healer if the encounter requires you to do that.

    So I'd think about:

    Tank1: Prot Paladin
    Tank2: Prot Paladin
Heal1: Disc Priest (off spec shadow)
    Heal2: Resto Shaman
DPS1: Boomkin (off spec anything you need, plenty of gear drops)
    DPS2: Frost Mage
    DPS3: Destro Lock
    DPS4: Ele Shaman
    DPS5: Ele Shaman
    DPS6: Ele Shaman
Everything that is fun in life is either bad for your health, immoral or illegal!

I would probably run with the following:

    Paladin Prot
    Druid Feral (o/s Boomkin)
    Priest Disc (o/s shadow)
    Mage Arcane
    Lock Destro
    Lock Destro
    Lock Destro
    Shaman Ele
    Shaman Ele
    Shaman Ele (o/s Resto)

I wouldn't bother with a 10box setup till cata... tank rotations are completely diff.

I`m most likely leveling singleboxing anyway to experience the game a bit first. ATM it looks like boxing could be really hard for 5mans even, we yet have to see 10mans, 2 more weeks and we see it in action at blizzcon

If you know, or at least have a good idea of what you'd like, it doesn't hurt to level up some toons now. That way, you'll be able to do your 10-box a lot sooner.
