Why set up symlinks

What is the purpose that people set up symlinks to their WTF and other folders?

I'm setting up my 5 box setup now and I see some threads mention this?

Faster read times. What software are you using? This isn't necessary if you are using ISBoxer, it does it for you

1 WoW folder + keyclone = 1 set of profiles, all your toons will have the same settings
1 WoW folder + keyclone + symlinks = 5 sets of profiles, you do what you want on each toon
Innerspace + ISBoxer = don't worry bout it.

do some more research and experiment with your 30 toons, there's no major right or wrong way (except rolling gnomes). For me half the fun was finding new stuff that you can do playing 5's.

The ISBoxer website wouldn't even let me purchase. Its buggy and looks like a complete hack up that someone has done over the weekend. If a developer of the software reads this, they should really be aware that they lost a sale because I couldn't find BASIC information such as price and how to purchase on the site.

I can't speak for allowing purchases, I don't recall any issues back when I bought it. And I'm not really sure how much plainer the purchase info could be, since it's right there on the side of the page between "Purchasing" and the button that says "$ Buy Now!"
