Default stopcasting with the Grid & Clique addon

Currently in my 5 box, my dedicated healer does nothing but heal and is not included in my dps button spam. This allows me to use repeater regions and I can click heal away without ever havign to stop my dps spam.

I current use repeater regions, grid and Clique.

Ideally, in many cases, I'd like to use the healer as dps as well. Is there any way to set this up so heals always stopcasting first? Clique doesn't seem to have the option to do an automatic stopcasting.

spam a secondary button for dps on your healer and stop spamming when you want to heal.

if you have him dps with the same button, he'll continually try to recast his dps rotation (because you're spamming the button).

you could get around some of it with use of /nochanneling but I think it'd be better to have that dps on a second button.

For your healer use a macro in clique instead of the spell alone. All of these addons (VuhDo, Healbot, Clique) allow you type in a macro name instead of a spell name. Then use the following.

    /stopcasting
    /cast greater heal etc.....

Just don't spam it or you will restart the spell cast.

I use a separate dps key for the healer that only spams one spell i.e. LB, Wrath. This is helpful for general questing also so you don't have you healer running around with 'thumbs up butts'.

I must have missed the place that let me put a macro in Clique, I'll look again :-)

It has been a long time since I used clique but I am sure you can do it. VuhDo supports it and the macro names are system thing. Just punch in a macro name instead of the spell and see if it works.

i found that in my case, when i switch clique to use macros it loses the corerct targetting: i.e the heals go on the current priest target, not the grid toon.
for this (from memory) i believe i added a target=mouseover in my clique macros:
    Code:
    /stopcasting
    /cast [target=mouseover] greater heal etc.....
i'll have to check at home (currently at work) for this, but i remember there was a trick to it.

this allows you to dps with the priest, and still throw heals correctly when needed. Note that you can't spam click the grid bars however, as it will stop the greater heals as much as the smites.

Yeah, I think VuhDo tells you to use a wildcard for your spell target. @VuhDo or similar. I have been successful using @mouseover and no target as well. Perhaps it is because my healer rarely has a target up during instances.

I had the targetting problem you describe as well, I'll try your solution tonight. Thanks!

i just checked my macros in clique, they are as described above:
    Code:
    #showtooltip
    /stopcasting
    /castsequence [target=mouseover] Greater Heal
