    Default Melee boxing questions

Hey everyone, got just a handful of questions to those melee boxers out there.

    1) I'm assuming this is a no, but can you set up a form of follow-strobing (Jamba) that Interacts with Target? By checking my alts to move on mouse click, I can use a button (f in my case) to move my melee team to a target, but I have to spam f whenever a target moves. I thought on the far-off chance there might be a way to strobe that.

    2) Anyone have suggestions on how they assign melee to different targets? Right now I have one button where they all assist my main toon and then hit a second keystroke to interact with target, and one button for my designated offtank to assist while the others do not. This has proved clumsy and often has them running towards the wrong targets due to lag and changing targets.

I am contemplating moving towards setting up focus's or something that is premidated, but if anyone else has experienced the problems with assist lag and have an easy solution, I'm all ears.

Thanks, will post more if they come to mind.

Focus is what I use if I need to have my guys attacking something while my tank switches targets often, I don't know of a better system really...

Regarding something that will 'follow strobe" your targetted mob, I don't think something like tthat exists. I tend to move the target with my tank instead of having my guys try to keep up, it's just easier for me. I'd be interested in a reply on that as well...

    1) No, there is no current way to strobe IWT.

    2) Target-switching lag is here to stay until we see quantum networking. There is no solution that automatically adjusts for it. Just learn to play with the delay and after a while it will become second nature. There are some other strange things that can happen with targeting but rather than confuse you, I'd just suggest getting used to giving it a half second or so before expecting the alts to pick up your lead's target.

Using external timing and loops is against the rules, so no, there is no way to strobe IWT.

My mistake, there is no legitimate way to strobe IWT.

    You can spam it, manually.

The closest solution I have (which I use), relies on IS Boxer.
But other software options can probably do something similar.

I have my main spam DPS key.
This key will, every second input, send IWT to members of my melee group.

I have another mapped key, which is a toggle.
It enables or disables the mapped key which sends IWT to the melee group.

So when I have the Melee IWT enabled.
Press 1, sends "1" to all windows.
And Press 2, sends IWT to toons in the melee group.

And when I have Melee IWT disabled.
Press 1, sends "1" to all windows.
And Press 2, does nothing since that mapped key is disabled.

You can set Press 1 to be down and Press 2 to be release.
Or you can set each to be down only, its up to you how you go.

That lets you spam a single click castsequence key.
And easily toggle whether IWT is on or not.
But you're still pressing (or releasing) a key for each and every last IWT action.

Ualaa - do you just setup your FTL DPS keys with two steps then? Both actions perform the key press but only one of them triggers IWT to mele?

pretty much rhand, his first press is 1 and his second press is Z(lets just say that Z is keybound to IWT for purpose of this explanation), isboxer controls that, in that each step counts as a different keypress. It would be like taking your hand and going 1 z 1 z 1 z 1 z 1 z over and over only controlled internally by isboxer

i dont see what the sence in it is tho, its not that hard to press your keybind when you need to. obligitory L2P comment! <3 lol

    Talking

Not necessarily, it could be something like this:

    Action 1 (first Press)
FTL DPS Key 1 Press (sent to all slaves)
    Action 2 (second press)
IWT command sent to mele slaves
FTL DPS Key 1 Press (sent to all slaves)
If you're spamming the key it shouldn't hinder your /click macro's and it would cut down on some of the IWT spam to your mele teams. Personally I have IWT assigned on all my FTL keys, though I do use a target group to limit it to only the mele slaves. Works fine for questing but I'm finding it to be a bit too spammy for instances and the frequency of run aways is much higher in instances for some reason.

Then again I'm still pretty amateur at this stuff and haven't finished a mele team to 80 yet so a lot of what I am doing is still trial and error.
