It can be great but I find myself mostly disabling it. My best experience with it has been in Valve games but for most games it can be annoying and require alot of fiddling.
The annoying part usually comes from UI elements being places in odd places such as to the far left on the screen in Dragon Age.
And the fiddling part is from the fact that many games just dont work well or at all with Eyefinity, I was looking forward to playing Borderlands in high resolution but you cant really use sprint at all in Eyefinity due to a bug and that makes that game slow paced and boring.
It also requires alot of gpu power, I have a 5970 card and have to run Dragon Age origins and many other games at low gfx settings in eyefinity resolutions.
I have a 77" big screen and I prefer sitting close to that while gaming really, it works perfectly and you get about the same immersiveness.
Its great when it works but its not really well supported yet and new drivers wont do much as its the games that must support it.
