Default 5 boxer looking to get back into wow

Stopped playing wow back in Feb/Mar but looking to re-launch crews again. I was using keyclone with FTL setup all using /assit macros and "click" sequences as such. If i can remember setup the macros so that i spammed an attack button and basically the clones would start to click through their action bars.

Is there a shift away from this setup and keyclone?
What is the setup people are using nowadays?
Has any software got the castable AOE sorted for boxers yet?
I ran many teams, 5 x same, holy trinities and mixed casters.

Cant wait to get back into it

/click is still pretty widely used. FTL is still useful if you found use for it. I don't personally use it as a PVE dungeon-crawler team, but it's still very popular for PvP or other places where you'd need to swap your leader often.

Both ISBoxer and HKN can be used for casting AOE. Keyclone can do it, but not easily or reliably in my experience.

eeek sorry didnt realise. I am leaning to getting rid of keyclone and starting with Innerspace, videos on youtube seem similiar. Will there be a learning curve if I used keyclone before?

So a little more reading and I find that there could be changes to /click setups? I am wondering if i should move to FTL setup and go ISBoxer and rework macros now before these changes take place in game? Is there a steep learning curve and is ISBoxer the way to go?

I'd recommend a set up that doesn't use /Click. It currently works, but based on beta/PTR stuff it will likely be removed from the game for Cataclysm. In the event that it works fine post-Cataclysm, it won't be that hard to adapt your system to its use.

IS Boxer gets you a working/playable interface from the wizard alone. Depending on how much customization you want to do, there is a bit of a learning curve to the program. It has FTL on its own, you just need to drag your spells onto the same hotkey (1 through =) for each of your toons.

The hardest thing for me, was learning the interaction between Keymaps (Groups of Mapped Keys), Repeater (Mouse or Keyboard) and the default Keyclone method.

KC basically has everything broadcast (which is like Keyboard Repeater on, all the time). You can Blacklist certain keys to not broadcast or Whitelist certain keys, so only those broadcast.

IS:B has Repeater and Keymaps. Keymaps are hotkeys, which do something. Repeater is having every key broadcast or the mouse movement/clicks broadcast. The default will be Keymaps On and Repeater Off. If they're both on, then Keymaps have priority (basically a hotkey for a mapped key works for the mapped key and is not broadcast, if both are on).

With Mapped Keys, you can do a lot of things. The hotkey, let's say Shift T, can have a multitude of different targets, such as Current Window, Window: All Without Current, or a pre-defined group, so it can go to your Tank and Healer, but not the other toons. The Mapped Key can send a keystroke (the same as the hotkey, or a different one) to warcraft to run a warcraft macro directly, but it could run a macro inside IS Boxer instead. It might enable or disable other hotkeys. In short, a mapped key is a very flexible tool that opens a lot of options which KC does not provide.

But the basic playing of the game, after running the wizard is fast and easy.

I switched from Keyclone to ISBoxer. Was a bit hard to get used to and setup (beyond the initial wizard), but if you take the time to understand it, you won't regret it. Also, there is a ton of support for it from both the programmer and other users. Well worth the small amount of money IS costs.

*****eek my apologies, meant to reply to this http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=32231

    I'm in the same situation.

My main team is prot pally, 3 shamans and a hunter, and I've been wanting to start another team, now with Cata, should you wait or go for it so you have more options when the xpansion comes out.

Main points have been covered.... so many class changes, plus, and I know it's not a big deal, but the removal of the /click macro.

My second group would be a mixed group and I have the druid and warlock setup with /click macros.

The other question I have in going from a shaman heavy group to a mixed group would be going from having 3 or in your case 4 potential healers back to the classic 1 healer configuration. I like having the healing spread around, I'm pretty sure that's one of the reasons I find my group easier to play.

Guess I won't find out unless I try it.
