3 hunters 1 priest in BG

I was doing a premade AB with some guildies the other day and they asked med to bring my hunters for fun (3 of them)

My priest is in good pvp gear 1k+ ress etc and i usually only play it in premades since healer in pugs bg is utter crap due to always being left alone while x number of rogues and z number of others always pick you out in a second

this premade was all in good pvp gear, warrior with shadowmourne etc so i explained that my hunters have no pvp gear.

np just bring them they said and so i did.

For once i loved the fact that my healer is a clothie priest, rofl, i could see all those nasties comming at me the second i showed my face, but little did they expect 3 hunters targetting them as they were inc.

They compleatly ignored my hunters standing there juicy in pve gear and during 3 AB i didnt die once, not for lack of trying from the other team but because anyone close enough to my priest would fall prey to my 3 hunters and since in pve gear their dmg was hillarious.

Now my point is that, this kinda made me think getting pvp gear for my hunters is a waste in BGs since tbh if there is a clothie close bye 9 out of 10 times i will be target, ofc some odd player went for my hunters but with x3 traps and heals it was never an issue.

Tbh i was thinking of just bying some pvp shoulders just to give others the impression they had it and try some pug pvp bgs.

I do pvp alot on single chars, and playing priest is awesome once you get your gear straight, before that its just fail but with cata soon here and pve content failing pvp looks like a fun challange, perhaps even try some 3v3 or 5v5, i have a paladin as well for tanking HC.

Do you have any input of what you would do if you were in my shoes, in BGs, Arena etc, anyway just wanted to share some mBox BG experience please give some feedback or comment.

I would like to try my 4 hunters and a resto shaman maybe. how did you find fears? I could see a well-geared disc priest or a lock still being able to jump in and fear the team, which is a pain if fear ward is down, or even lock fears on your main being a problem.

Did you just bait your priest 20y infront of your stalking hunters? that would be pretty nasty lol.

Just my thoughts on this:
I think that in a battleground, you've won at the moment you can get the oposing team to feel that they'll probably lose. Because they'll act like it and will indeed lose. This includes being a brainless zombie and storm for the clothy, try to kill, die, ress and mount up again to retry.

I think it could be a quite strong setup, but you're gonna need some resi to be able to play them properly. Now in the premade, you were probably defending a base? Well, you're going to have to go and charge bases in a pugged BG. If they see your hunters having ~20k hp, any person with a brain will target them instead of your priest.

we did the 1600 - 0 achivement and i was defending farm with 2 mages, fear happened alot but i just gathered them up again, tbh fear didnt do much to me cause hunter have pretty awesome range so after fear they still continued to dps like crazy.

I just made sure they were pointing in the right direction.

and yes, i dangled my clothie priest in front of them, anyway i bought some 232 pvp gear for badges and will try to gear then up as much as possible, atm i have the 5 set pices ilvl 232 you can buy for triumph, will try to aim for 1k res on all of them.
