What mic are you using? Does it plug into the audio port or is it usb?

On my 20 or so videos, I moved from a audio port headset/boom mic to a Zoom H4 connected to the pc with USB. After going through a bunch of forums, I found the most common cause of background hiss was actually from the audio port as it has high system noise (every change in voltage will give a corresponding change in audio volume). Once you move to USB and a quality mic, the noise will be gone.

It just depends on how much you want to spend. It can get pretty crazy too... audio has a lot in common with boxing, you can spending insane $$$$ quite easily.

Im currently using a mic thats only gaming headset and that goes into the audio jack. I do however have the g110 keyboard that has its own headset jack that then goes into a usb connection, would that work?

Edit: just tried it out and theres no more background noise =]. I didnt do this before because when I switched from the front ports to the back ports in the past, I noticed that the back ports arent as loud as the front ones and I didnt want to lose any sound. I was afraid the same would result if I switched to the keyboard inputs. However, I do not think that there is that big of a difference at the moment. I will check and see though.
