    Default when to start boosting?

    Hi all,

I´ve read on a number of sites and guides that RaF boosting isnt recommended until lvl 10 or so, and that quests are better exp until then.

last night, i dinged 10 and got my friend to run me thought RFC.

i got about 18 exp / kill and it took a while, i dont know if it was worth the effort at all, considering the questexp is also trippled.

should i try to get a 70 to boost me instead of an 80 ? or is it just too soon?

i´m thinking i should quest until 20 and then start SM runs when my friend has the time.

did we do something wrong or are the guides outdated?

when did you start to boost?

with RAF I normally start boosting at 15 (as questing early levels is really quick - a couple of hours)
    15-20 SFK
    20-45 SM Armory and Cath
    45-60 Scholomance

I'm currently running 2x Shaman (on RAF) being boosted by an 80 Feral Druid (swipe spam FTW)

11 hours, 6 mins played, just hit 40.

for reference: when i started getting boosted in SFK , i was getting 75xp per kill (obviously this gets far better when you get to the optimal level for the instance)

While its all about kill rate and getting into the rhythm of things.

You might try toying with a free DK and see what that does for your numbers.

    Hey,

It has everything to do with your level and the level of the mobs. if they are Red for you or even skull you get (compared to yellow) way less. also it might help if you go for a lvl 60 DK to start boosting lower instances because the lower the booster is the less XP you loss because of the level gap. (lower lvl booster might also mean ur slower tru the instance)

if you want to get the optimal xp/hour download the Titan addon from curse.com and you can see on a bar on top of your screen how much XP/hour you get with a lvl 60 booster and with a lvl 80 booster.

Hope this helps any at all.

    Greetings

I just finished boosting 4 priests through instances with my level 80 tankadin.
I've done 5 sets of RAF groups to 60 (horde) mainly through instances with a level 80 and here is what I've found to be the fastest for my groups:

Quest to level 8 then do RageFire Chasm till 10. Grab this quest at 9 right outside the instance: http://www.wowwiki.com/Quest:Slaying_the_Beast

Shadowfang Keep at 10 - 20. Make sure you bind in Undercity or Tirisfal Glades Inn. You can Park your RAF toons right at the entrance while you clear the whole Keep and they get XP.

Scarlet Monastery from 20 - 40. The first time I clear all 4 sides, graveyard, library, armory, cathedral to get the achievement . After a while I only do Cathedral & Armory unless I'm trying to get caster gear out of the library. At level 30 Run over to Undercity and pick up this quest: http://www.wowwiki.com/Quest:Into_The_Scarlet_Monastery

Blackrock Depths at level 40 - 45. It takes me one full clear and I'm at level 44. Just the initial mobs in the ring area usually dings me to 45.

Blackrock Spire 45 - 50. I do one full run in Black Rock Spire Upper & Lower and I'm usually 48 or 49. I'll reset and get to 50. Hopefully you still have your hearth set to UC.

Scholomance 50 - 55. You can park your RAF friends at the entrance and they receive XP from all the mobs and bosses. Hopefully someone has a scholomance key otherwise I'd suggest doing Stratholme.

Hellfire Ramparts 55 - 60. It takes me about 5.5 full runs in here to finish the RAF off to 60.

I was able to do this in the evenings and on the weekends. The last priest team I did was my fastest to 60 doing RAF through instances: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-f...&cn=Wtfshadoww

    Hope this helps.

Boosting RAF alts with my main (Feral tank and MM Hunter for ZG) and doesn't take long.

    1-10 low lvl quests
10-20 SFK (park the alts at the front door gates, and clear all the way to the boss. This helps not reaching max instances / hour)
20-40 SM Lib (clear first open area, park alts at the east arch and clear to the boss), SM Arm (same as lib then park at north arch, clear to Herod and pull him to the door so he gives the xp as well :P ), SM Cath (clear the first hallway and park toons on north wall near the arch. This gives xp when pulling Mograine to the door. Normally I kill most on east side when going up and west side when the cathedral is cleared to speed things up).
40-45 ZG I just speed kill everything with my hunter
45-59 Scholo (let my alts stand where they are when they zone in) drop down to the zombies, ghouls and AoE everything I can find. These lvls are the fastest imo. Level to 99% of the level then give the level.
60-62 Hellfire quests (I avoid collection quests as much as I can)
    62-64 Zangarmarsh quests
    64-66 Nagrand quests
    66-67 Blade's Edge quests
    67-68 Netherstorm quests
    68+ WOTLK
    Xodo
    Arupt Vrupt Wrupt Xrupt

If you are Alliance the first "real dungeon" I believe you can enter is SFK at lvl 10. I always go to a dungeon as soon as I can get in. My thought is that even though quests can give great experience, with a booster in a dungeon there is no downtime for turning in quests etc, just raw experience all the way to 61. If you have other RAF toons, I would set either a DK or one of the RAF account toons at the enterance of each dungeon, this way you can summon to each instance and have no travel time for the lowbies.
    Just my 2 cents

Deadmines at 10. Using a stealthed moonkin you can pull the entire instance back to the start (where your slaves are) and get about 1.5 levels per clear.

At 15 go straight to Stockades.

At 20 go to SM - stay there until 45.

SFK is just kill as you go, no need for any pulling back to the start, just park toons at the door and kill.
I much prefer an instance that allows the lowbies to be parked at the entrance and simply clear the instance without moving them
Oh an also with SM, it REALLY drops in exp gained after lvl 40, much faster to move to BRD
