i'm pretty sure home-calling apps can be cracked just like any other. in the end, the program is still waiting for a yes/no flag to continue, and if cracked it gets the yes automatically.

somehow this reminds me of the games of old, where you got the lists or tools to find the password matching the combination showed on screen.
Anyone remember the wheels on Monkey Island or the disguise tool on Sam & Max for example? good old days lol

IS does more than "phone home" it also looks for the latest version which is worth it to me. ( I am one of those using Jamba .4 as .6 came out)
