Does KC hang around here anymore?

Had some comp problems recently and after getting them sorted I tried to box (been a while)...only to find that KC license was "EXPIRED". Tried multiple times to transfer it the other night but never got an e-mail. Tried it again tonight and still no e-mail. I just e-mailed him but was wondering if he's even still active around here.

I use IS to do window management and am switching to HKN asap for key broadcasting, screw phone home apps .

While I love KC, I do hate the phone home part anytime you update your comp. But, I can see where he's coming from it, as when I used to dabble in software development I'd release something and see it a week later on the warez sites. It's annoying to say the least.

As for KC (Rob) I haven't seen him post in quite awhile, but if you email him he's normally pretty quick to respond.

The problem with phone home apps that phone home every single time it's started is that only the honest users are screwed when something goes wrong. I can think of more than a few better methods that phone home weekly or monthly but still run for a limited time to get around problems. Otherwise it's just frustrating and makes me regret giving money to them.

Even though I dont use KC anymore- I still have it and its paid for as a back up, just in case.

With cata right around the corner I wonder if it will still work with the new expansion or if he will need to update it. Better question is will he update it if it needs to be.

I've launched the beta using ISBoxer and Keyclone with no issues.

Calling him really seems to be the best way to go about contacting him these days. Not sure what he's doing with himself besides hanging out on the sunny beaches of Florida.

i'm pretty sure home-calling apps can be cracked just like any other. in the end, the program is still waiting for a yes/no flag to continue, and if cracked it gets the yes automatically.

somehow this reminds me of the games of old, where you got the lists or tools to find the password matching the combination showed on screen.
Anyone remember the wheels on Monkey Island or the disguise tool on Sam & Max for example? good old days lol

Not being able to transfer the license was my fault, I did not realize gmail keeps spam in a separate folder when used in pop mode. I checked for spam folders on my mail client just in case but the e-mails were sitting on gmail's servers.

Sad thing is I've already gotten up and running on HKN and am beginning to really like the readability of the script.
