SSD Not found or am I just not too bright?

I installed my new SSD today and when I booted up windows it recognized it, installed the drivers and said ready to use.

Then after rebooting it never appears in my hard drive list. It appears in device manager and bios however.

Do I need to do something more? Like format it? Remember I'm not a computer person and the instructions basically say it should be recognized and ready to use.

Right click on 'my computer' and select 'manage'. The Computer management screen should open. Then select disk management, this should show a list of your all your installed disks. Right click on your newly installed SSD and perform the function you need, i.e. format or partion.
