    1. put in old card. remove drivers
    2. put in new card, install new drivers.
    3. profit
    ill do a fresh reinstall of my OS and start from scratch i think thats the best idea

    thats the cracking a nut with a sledgehammer approach.


    • uninstall the current nvidia drivers
    • download this program to remove all nvidia files from your system.
    • turn off machine - install new card
    • restart - install ati drivers

    (the issue you are probably having is that the system is not detecting your monitor correctly, so it will not give you the required resolution)
