I activated my 4 new accounts about 3 days before RAF was announced. Needless to say I was a bit pissed off about that.
I have now leveled 2 teams to 80, and 2 other teams to 73+. Plus a handful of singles.
The last one to 80 was done almost exclusively within dungeons - I really love the LFG with full teams - sure it's not as fast as RAF + boosting, but since I do them all with different class makeups it means I have usually got it all figured out by the time I start in on heroics.
Exactly, I really think that there is something to be had in that process.
Though people mostly just insanely over gear heroics with their groups and don't really bother with anything other than a single dps rotation really it seems. Especially since they aren't going to do much besides heroic grinds with those characters.
I leveled a team of druids and Palies without RaF. Full BoAs help. Also, at 51 you can start doing AV. And if your side wins 50% or more, it is crazy good exp. On AV weekend i got my palies from 61-68, I did hellfire and Zang quest while I waited for ques.. I never finished Zang Marsh, turned 68 there in an AV run, then headed to Northrend 8)
Currently 5 Boxing 5 Protection Paladins on Whisperwind Alliance
The Power of Five!!! ( short video )
I haven't leveled a full team of 5 ever, but I have done the following all without RAF:
- Leveled my first core "4" (paladin, priest, mage, shaman) assisted by my 80 warlock "main"
- Leveled my druid boosted by the paladin, ported around by the mage/lock
- Leveled my rogue boosted by the paladin, ported around by the mage/lock
- Currently leveling 3 more shaman, boosted by the paladin (but not ported as on same accounts as mage/lock)
Honestly, if you aren't in a race and enjoy some PvP its not bad. Even without a booster if you can pvp some level's not a chore if you aren't in a huge rush. In WG weekend, I didn't use my paladin for my 3 shaman and just BG'd all weekend. I think I went from 20 to 28 and these weren't marathon sessions.
Just my two coppers.
80 Blood Elf Paladin, 80 Blood Elf Priest,80 Troll Mage, 80 Undead Warlock, 80 Tauren Druid, 80 Undead Rogue
80 x4 Shaman (Orc x3, Troll)
Madoran - Horde - PvE
I've leveled all my toons with out boosting or RaF. Just good old fashion quests. 4 boxer of course but my partner is normally playing a 5th toon with me at the same level the whole time. My priests took me 5 days played time to level to 80? I did some instances when I had quests. I'm working on a set of "never set foot in an instance" toons right now, I think the'll be 80 with 6 days played time on them.
My shamans were 7 days played time to 70 before they changed XP and I didn't have any 70's on the server at the time for help.
Hardware multiboxing, and looking good while doing it.
