Possibilities of boxing on Dial up or Satellite?

My wife and I are looking towards moving a little further out from town, and have found a place we like...unfortunately there is no DSL coverage in that area. So my question is, is it possible to box on dial up or satellite? I box 5 toons, my wife plays her solo toon. Any info that can provided would be greatly appreciated

I have tried two accounts on dial up (Australia) and the latency is very unpredictable (common with Dial up) , but even when it is steady, bandwidth is terrible, the main issue here is not trying to run multiple accounts on your end (which I assume wouldn't work anyways) but the fact that you can barely do 10man's on dial up do to the amount of info coming through, let alone getting info down to 5/6 separate wow clients. So I would not recommend that setup, despite it's attractive price (Or so it is here)

Sat can be better, or far, far worse.

Latency is the killer here, as bandwidth (at least download) shouldn’t be too horrible.
Unfortunately due to the length of the travel the data has to take, latency can be anywhere from 600ms to 10,000ms.

I have used our satellite connection here on site (Mine site) with some success, but that's using no more than 2 accounts, and anything large (AV) will be not fun

Have you looked at the option of 3G cards? I'm no expert on the US phone networks, just what I read, but from what I hear they shouldn't be too bad.
The 3.5/3G networks in Aus are great and I have successfully boxxed from both my iPhone and my 21mb card with no issues.

Sure, it's not as good as DSL, nor as cheap, but it works.

Hmmm havent thought of that, Ill check with Verizon or AT&T and see what they can deliver. Thanks for the info!

If you are running win7, you can easily look at performance monitor and see which wow server each wow is connected to and track the bandwidth used. Its pretty trivial, however latency is likely the big killer you will definitely want to firewall off any and all other programs that would be using the internet (some 'gaming firewalls' might do this, my killer nic has a program that does this for example along with the lanwan registry alternations people are so in love with).
