However, we are going to increase buff totem range (and possibly other totem range) and we have figured out a way to make Searing Totem attack your target, instead of a random and probably inappropriate target.

I don't use my searing totem just because it has a boner for anything close to it. This will be a nice change.

Now all they have to do is allow us to "throw" the fire totem near the mobs so fire nova is useful in PvE. I either have to stand close to the tank and risk getting cleaved, or move in an out just to do AoE fights.

Yeah, that's something they talked about back in April, but haven't heard about it since. Hopefully they'll come back to it, since Earthquake is from range and having to run up to drop magma for fire nova in AOE situations doesn't make much sense.

question is, will the searing keep firing if you haven't anything targetted?
that's the power of searing totem, it blasts no matter what your condition is (feared/stunned/etc)

cant wait to toss searing and blast someone with 4 x fire nova, but a focused searing sounds like it will do some good damage.

Searing totems at least focusing like a pet on defensive will pretty much be a must for the new enhancement talents anyway due to the way the dps can rely on searing attacking the correct target there.
