Default New system for 5x - questions

    Dear fellow boxers,

Im working on a new boxing system since cata is comming soon. what i have now is doable i just would like a upgrade since this system feels old.

    current system:

    C2Quad (dono exact name) @ 2.4Ghz
    MSI X48 Platinum
    4gb DDR3 1333
    EAH4870x2 @ 1gb
    1x WD green power 1TB
    1x samsung shit hdd @ 1TB
G5 gaming mouse (wanting the new razor one with 15 buttons or so.. :P)
Saitek II keyboard (maybe wanted to change to something with more buttons.)

Now this is what i currently have, and i would like to upgrade. just been out of the run with hardware for sometime and dont know whats good anymore.

what i was thinking about buying:

I7 930 (dono if this is any good)
Asus P6T Deluxe V2 (wondering since i maybe wana go for SSD should i need sata-600? Triple channel?)
    3x Kingston ValueRAM 4 GB DDR3-1333 Kit of 2
GPU im not sure since i have 3 screens and i want to keep using them. is this posible with a SLI setup? (prefered Nvidea)
    Powersuply?? 800wat? or 1000+?
SSD?? no idea wich one would be good.. it would only be used for either 1 ssd for 5xwow or 2 ssd and 1 for windows 2e for 5x wow.

also was planning to change servers from Sylvanas - EU to perhaps Grim Batol tho im alliance and im not sure any other allys play there. is it a good server?

i apologize for the lack of my english,

could anyone give feedback on this?

    thanks in advance
    Xevra, Aevra, Bevra, Cevra, Devra
    Sylvanas - EU - Alliance

    Speak english very well.
CPU and MB are good choices.
You want to get 12 Gigs of RAM for that setup. The i7 cpu/ x58 series use triple channel memory so you can use 3gig, 6 gig or 12 gig. You want 1 gig per toon and some more for the OS and the GPU buffer.
You could add another 4850 and use xfire or upgrade to a G275 or better, or 2x G250 for SLI
I feel a 750-800 Watt would be fine.
Your drives are ok to bring over, and a big SSD (like 80gig) would hold both, or 2 32 gig like you said, just go for the best price.
RAF Tour Guide files are obsolete, I went to Zygor
    MultiBoxers play with themselves

yes i was thinking of a 12gb setup 6x2 gb so i can use triple channel.
If i use SLI can i connect and use 4 monitors?
prefer having 2 GPUs in SLI and use 4 monitors instead of 1 GPU with a limit of 2 monitors.
ATM i have a OCZ 750 watt GameXStream. dont want to come short on PSU so might upgrade to 1k. my wow folders atm are +/- 15gb each. wich means i would come short for 5x wow on 2x 32gb ssd + OS. should i go for 2x 80gb then? or just run 1-2 slaves from my 1TB's?

no clue what software you're using, but it's not necessary to have completely separated folders for each account. manual symlinking/(or automagic with isboxer) requires only one complete folder :-) this would save a lot of space.

as for the power supply: look for a quality one, the watts number isn't everything. and most likely if you're not overclocking you won't ever come near 750watts. so a 750watts psu is more then enough.

WoW does not use SLI or Xfire, You can use 2 graphics cards with Innerspace and/or Win 7.
There are GPUs with 3 monitor ports now
I would go with one WoW folder

okay would it matter if i use 2 different GPU's then? if not does it also not matter if its an ATI and a Nvidea? yes i found a XFX ati 5770 yesterday with 2 DVI and one HDMI. so that could work already. (would that be enough power?)

all of the boxers that i know of are on horde side of GB.. it would be nice if there was some balance to the equation (just think of the world pvp we could have )

as for the GFX card question.. you cannot mix ati and nvidia in the same pc and expect them to work. there would be too many driver conflicts, you can on the other hand have say 2x nvidia that are different models (ie 1x 8800GT and 1x GTX 275) or 2x ATi

I personally would go with a 5850 or 5870, as this allows you to run 3 screens at the same time using eyefinity

The XFX 5770 allows me to connect 3 screens to. its 160 euro +/- and 1gb.

as of the horde/ally if all the boxers are on horde i would feel lonely on ally ofc. :'( no one to have fun with.
my box team is on Sylvanas-ally and a box team on Vajsh-horde, the chars i play with together with my IRL friends are on Vasjh-ally and they where planning to change realm to GB-ally.
I was considering it to until i heard you all are horde. kinda bummer.. i would have to pay for 5x migration+ my raid chars ect ect wich is 3 so total of 8 transfers.. kinda expencive :P

atleast i can chat on these forums. great comunity love it

il think about transfering just not sure atm. first il get my Motorcycle drivers licence. then a new PC and AFTER all that expensive shit i might transfer..
so dont realy know what to do. i would like to play with some fellow boxers. still its bummer that it costs so much money. boxing is fine but transfering every 5 months isent :P
