Mages you'll put out a lot of damage. Shaman (I'm biased here) have overwhelming advantages. You can heal, rez, self rez, still put out respectable damage, and you carry a ton of buffs in the way of totems. It's cliche, but there's a lot of reasons people use shaman for multiboxing, especially in PvP.
